Right, I know shit all about computers but I've been roped into doing a Flash interface with a PHP backend for the database.
Is this going to be difficult?
Is there a better language to use for Flash integration? (Don't say French)
(I've in the past done SQL and a little bit of JSP, to give you an idea of what I can do)

not too hard, depending on what sort of front to bask end comms you need. if you simply get flash to to http POSTs to your php, then it's dead easy

The database will be simple, just adding/removing text entries etc. Is it better to have the php generate a HTML popup window to display entries or for it to display it in the Flash file itself?
Example: I click on a room in the interface. It shows a body of text with a picture of the room. This info will be taken from the database
(e.g. "SELECT picURL, bodytext FROM rooms, pics WHERE picURL =" ' + dbPicURL + "AND bodytext = " + dbBodyText + ";).
That kind of shit.

Oh yeah, and there'll be an admin section so stupid people like me can update entries (password protected, obv.)

the easiest way to do it would be as you suggested, yeah. in that case it's just a flash wrapper around a php site, really.
