Aha!
Perhaps the dolls are just in the picture coincidently and the woman in the background is Death!

A few theories...
- One: as fellatio increases in popularity, it leads to a drop in birth rates, hence death.
- Two: they are plastic figures, and as the world becomes more plasticy the true nature of humanity dies.
- Three: it is the 'death' of the idea of exhibited art due to the fact that this piece is subverting the nature of what context means.

Also taking into consideration the french saying for orgasam 'la petite morte' - the little death, maybe this exhibit is called death as portrays this?

the actual answer is none of the above.

it's part of a pair of "art" things. the other is a decaying skull, titled "sex". they have swapped titles. it's art, innt

No, Cal, it's conceptual art. Art is produced by artists. Conceptual art is produced by art school graduates (who I shall mock no longer because I'll be one in two and a bit years time).

It's not thought most of the people up for the award this year are much older than the usual crap we get from art-school grads (Lister sums up my feelings about this). The people doing this are 'famous' for swaping mouths for rectums and tongues for dildos and the like.
