Kill all Liberal cu*nts :)
Dealth Penality is a bad idea - I don't like the idea of killers reforming and being let out eventually, however sometimes they lock up the wrong person, and it'd be wrong for an innocent person to die.
Didn't someone once say "It's better for a thousand innocent men to die than for one guilty man to go free"?

I say kill 'em. Just like those evil bastards that killed those 2 little girls holly and jessica. I wouldn't hesitate to put a bullet in the back of his head and send him straght to hell where he belongs. The murdering swines.
Of course...this would make me a murderer - but you know what I mean...... (I hope)

I'm all in favour for the death penalty, it wouldn't stop people doing horrendous things, but could make Saturday afternoons abit more exciting if they decided to do public ones, esp. when there is no footy etc on telly.
Until the British Justice system is improved I do not think bringing back the death penalty is good idea.

So, what do you do with serial murderers, rapists, torturers, etc? Keep 'em locked up for life? The prison system is already full to bursting and it costs a fortune to keep people there. I've seen the argument about it costing as much to execute someone as to keep them in prison for life, but I don't care. Execute them quietly and spend the money saved on genuinely worthy causes.

We could always test stuff on them instead of using animals, therefore they would be serving some useful purpose and also suffering copiously into the bargain.

The nazis rounded all their 'undesirables' up & either shot or gassed them. Not the same thing because the jews were innocent? Maybe. But criminals are still people. I wonder if Rosie would feel as comfortable putting a bullet in the front of a person's head.
The death penalty is simply revenge for the victim's family. Revenge is a hateful building block for any society

I agree with Orinoco.
Build more prisons if there are too few now.

Isn't putting them in prison and hoping they rot also revenge for the vicitm's families?
I hate to spoil this for everyone but if you think about the type of people that support the death penalty and think about who is coming to visit the UK this week you'll understand why Davies has said this.
That, combined with a persecution complex caused by his parents no being able to think of a name that is different to "Davies" to use as his first name.

WH, I'm pretty sure most families of murder victims would say that prison is "too good" for them. Maybe if "life" meant "life" for sereal killers then this wouldn't be such an issue. I guess the problem comes back to money. Keep a serial killer in prison for life = improving the quality of life for many more through investment in the health service, education, asylum seekers etc. Still doesn't mean capital punishment is right.

They should be made to watch "Human Traffic" on a constant loop with their eyes wired open. That'll teach 'em.

Indeed it is. Prison doesn't help matters, especially for short termers, the idea of rehabilitation is to change a person's way of thinking from 'crime is ok' to 'crime is bad (mmkay)' one of the biggest influences on a person's way of thinking is peer pressure. Surrounding a criminal with loads of other people who think crime is ok isn't going to help anyone change for the better.
What is the solution? I don't really know. Isolating a criminal from other criminals & immersing them in their victims seems worth a try.

It doesn't reduce murders. After it was abolished in 1965 the amount of murders has not decreased because often they are not logically thought out but more spur of the moment (although the line between murder and manslaughter can be quite thin).
In any case, it is unlikely that politicans could bring back the death penalty now that it is banned by the European Convention on Human Rights.
Plus in response to an earlier post - a murder is only a murder if it's "unlawful" which an execution isn't. (I know, the amount of hours spent arguing about whether or not that it's rather barmy to have a circular definition for murder - the crime of murder is against the law because it's unlawful... ;)
David Davies is just riding the publicity wave around R v Huntley and Carr, who have not even been convicted yet. People were screaming to hang them last year - wait till they've been convicted by a jury of one's peers before you start the shouting and screaming.
