This is a read-only copy. The forum ran on iamcal.com from 2000 until its database was lost in 2016, and this topic was rebuilt from copies saved by the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine. Some replies may be missing.

This god/beliefs game is pretty nifty. [via outis/gne]

From bash this week: this is some serious ascii dancing

This 3d tube map is very cool, but what it really needs is some form of data export for others to play with. [via tom]

More about the secret santa project this year:
How to deal with naughty santas?
Imitation is still the sincerest form of flattery, right?

Thanks for the link. I thought I'd make my own lil' santa thing just for my friends and people i know on the web. I tried the ThinkBlank one last year, and never received anything. I tracked down the person, who was a little punk who had no intention of doing it anyways. Anyways...

eek - can you tell us who they were so we don't let them join in this year?

thanks :)

Cal. Is there any way to stop someone with loose morals setting up multiple blogs and wishlists on multiple email accounts and then signing up to secret santa on them not buying anyone anything in return(obviously)?
Posted by cal, 18:00, 24th November 2003:

not really - but you need to jump though a few hoops to do so. each signup needs a unique email address, unique profile copy and unique wishlist. i then manually check that the site, wishlist and profile copy all correspond. it would be a fair effort to do so.

according to the feedback we've had, *nearly* everyone got a present.

What was the ratio of Good/Bad Santa's?
Posted by cal, 09:39, 25th November 2003:

good was somewhere in the high ninties. hard to measure since not many people told us when they got a present - just when they didn't
Posted by cal, 09:40, 25th November 2003:

as in high ninety percent, not people
Posted by Grim..., 17:04, 25th November 2003:

And it's Grim..., not grim =[
Posted by cal, 17:07, 25th November 2003:

no silly punctuation on the frontpage
Posted by Grim..., 17:13, 25th November 2003:

Bah.
You can change it while you change 'Sanantas' to 'Santa's'.
Or I'll call you Callum =P
