i have to assume you're using vbscript. if you're not, the olsution is different (duh)

<%
dim c
c = Request.Form("field_name")
dim i
for i=1 to c
%>
whatever you want to repeat
<%
next
%>

change "Form" to "QueryString" if you're using GET not POST. man, i fucking hate ASP. it's SO badly thought out. in php:

<? for($i=1; $i<=$field_name; $i++){ ?>
whatever you want to repeat
<? } ?>

Thank you my freind that has pushed me in the right direction I have had another light over the head moment.

why you no like asp.net?

thanks also for the w3schools link. I have seen it before dont find it to helpful.
Posted by cal, 19:23, 18th December 2003:

because asp (and vbscript) are fucking awful technologies. there's very little that's more badly designed than asp.

you say you dont find w3schools helpful? since it'd teach you how to do asp basics and not ask such fundemental questions i suggest you actually read it.
