Residing pale within a black culture
I come with respect, not as a vulture
Been aware of another history
I realise race define in me

I beleive in the spirit of man woman
I use this belief to help me understand
Skin is race, culture ideology
Difference in thought, small biology

But when black is black and white is white
Must resist the wrong to restore the right
But I would never try to be black
Or claim information for which I lack

forgotten the rest - anyone recognise the lyrics?

Thank you boys for those amusing suggestions - I have now remembered -

from the Galliano - In pursuit of the 13th note - song title - Prince of Peace

Keith and Orville - really now!!

My questions...
1. Has anyone heard "Skunk Funk" by Galliano? It kicks ass. Agree?

2. In PHP, I've knocked together a really, really simple script that is a bit like this...

$time = time();
$timeinthefuture = ___;
$timedifference = $timeinthefuture - $time;

Following me so far? $timeinthefuture would have a PHP time string containing a time in the future, like 10:30 next Wednesday.

Now, if I echo $timedifference it will display how many seconds there are between now and then, right?

If I echo $timedifference / 60, minutes.
If I echo $timedifference / 60 / 60, hours.
And $timedifference / 60 / 60 / 24, days.

But, how about if I want a 'countdown'...

3 days, 12 hours, 45 minutes, 9 seconds.

As I understand it, time() format is based on the number of seconds since the epoch. Therefore, if $timeinthefuture was converted the ordinary way, it would show however many days since epoch. How do I get relative time rather than epoch-based absolute time?

Or am I just being a nonce who should buy a calendar?

    function dates_format_period($secs){
        $components = array();

        $days = floor($secs / (24*60*60));
        if ($days){
            $components[] = "$days day".(($days==1)?'':'s');
            $secs -= $days * (24*60*60);
        }

        $hours = floor($secs / (60*60));
        if ($hours){
