It's worse here, believe me. We have to go down to river to get it, and we bring it back in those big pots on our heads. Don't you all drink bottled water?

"The water in majorca dont taste like what it oughtta" - another rhyme from my childhood. I think it was to promote the pronounciation of T's.
Well thats nice...plus I have to fuckin pay for it!
I do use bottled water, plus I have a filter thingie in the house, but when I get tea made for me at work it tastes rotten.
ungrateful sod! nobody makes me owt!

the water is fine in england you loon! the water that comes out of a drinking tap is catorgary 1 water and is the same as any bottled water just with less minerals. i would suggest that the water that is being used in the keetle to make your tea is not being drawn from a catorgary 1 source. i.e a drinking water tap
it may well be cat 1 but still doesnt taste anything like volvic!

Yuck! (loo water) ?
is yr company into recycling?!!
RUSS, nonsense mate..sorry to say it but thats crap. The water down here is nothing like the water i get back home..so therefor the water here is not Cat1.

Where's back home?
the water in london is much harder than up north. i have to use much less shampoo at my nans house

RUSS, 17:51, 21st January 2004:
it may taste different due to differing amounts of impurities, but in essence it is exactly the same. if you can notice the difference in tea i would say your supply is wonky

Brock, 17:52, 21st January 2004:
The taste of the water is dictated by the type of minerals in it. So the area which the water came from will change the taste (ie what rocks it was filtered through to get into the water table). I would doubt very much that you could taste if water is lower quality until you get right down toward the 'bits of shit and dead cows floating in it' level.

ad: isn't that because you aren't there as much, though?
nope...Honestly, the water here is crap compared to the water back home...is it not something to do with limescale? Oh, I dont know, nor care now.
Posted by
Brock, 17:54, 21st January 2004:
Yes, dopey. That's because there would be more Limestone dissolved in it. That is why the water is 'harder' it is a reference to the different minerals (not bits of rock, btw) that are present in it!
And you asked the question, anyway.
erm no brock but nice try
insist on cups of tea made only from bottled water and i'm sure you'll be very popular
n.b i lie sometimes
I shall just make my own tea from now on.
n.b I know

Either that or someone is pissing in your kettle.

Is that cos you nick hers?
noooo! mine is v expensive and pretentious whereas as she'll happily use fairy or morning fresh. she's not unkown to use jif if she has to. she will not a reason for her having hair like wire wool

foggie - maybe the kettle needs descaling

it's lime in the water. london was quite hard water. where i live, we have very hard water. i like it. i hate that poncey 'soft' northern crap.
also, it could well be the kettle needs descaling or they're using very shit teabags.
Pah, Our roughty toughty Northern water could take your Southern water any time!

WarHead, 13:13, 22nd January 2004:
Yah, yah, yah. Come and get some water if you think it's hard enough.
I can taste the differance in the water whe I have tea in London too. I don't mind it that much but the hardness is certainly noticable.
