Maybe us ladies can give u some inspiration boys?

AD- I did 3 day eventing and my teaching certificate, and I used to groom for some of the top polo players in the UK - great fun with lots of pimms.

Im just now negotiating a horse to do an FEI World Dressage Challenge on - which is very exciting.

My instructor was trained with the French Dressage School, The Spanish Riding School of Vienna - AND the lucky guy also rode in the Grand National 3 times. He is ace.

However, too much work and 2 children to look after means I rarely get to ride just at the moment.

Best comment on dressage test at pony club camp was:

"Looks as though lots of fun - whoops - out of arena"

Best instruction from a teacher during a show jumping lesson was:

"Ride him in!!"

enough inspiration their boys??

wowzer friday, yr obviously a far better equestrian than i!
i blame my mother who nievely got me an arab chestnut mare (we could have raced her - she was super quick) for my very 1st horse at 9. i fell off that horse almost everyday as she was fearless and without brakes or steering. i gave up jumping when she took me - involuntarily - over the aircraft fusilage at a x-country schooling day!
Posted by tommorris, 13:20, 29th January 2004:

"great fun with lots of pimms"
Is that pimms as in the drink or is this more equestrian doublespeak? Because if it is the alcoholic variety, then there is a point.

Chestnut Mare (by The Byrds)

Written by Roger McGuinn and Jacques Levy

Always alone never with a herd
Prettiest mare I've ever seen
You'll have to take my word

I'm gonna' catch that horse if I can
And when I do I'll give her my brand

Well I was up on Stony Ridge after this chestnut mare
I'd been chasin' her for weeks
Oh, I'd catch a glimpse of her every once in a while
Takin' her meal, or bathin
A fine lady

This one day I happened to be real close to her
I saw her standin' over there
So I snuck up to her nice and easy
And I got my rope out
And I flung it in the air

I'm gonna' catch that horse if I can
And when I do I'll give her my brand
And we'll be friends for life
She'll be just like a wife

I'm gonna' catch that horse if I can

Well I got her, and I'm pullin' on her, she's pullin' back
like a mule goin' up a ladder
I take this chance and I jump up on her
Damned if I don't land right on top of her
Well she takes off, runnin' up on to that ridge
Higher than I've ever been before
She's runnin' along just fine, till she stops
Something spooked her
It's a sidewinder, all coiled and ready to strike
She doesn't know what to do for a second
But then she jumps off the edge
Me holding on

Above the clouds
Higher than eagles were gliding
Suspended in the sky

Over the moon
Straight for the sun we were riding
My eyes were filled with light

Behind us black walls
Below us a bottomless canyon
Floating with no sound

Gulls far below
Seemed to be suddenly rising
Exploding all around

I'm gonna' catch that horse if I can
And when I do I'll give her my brand
And we'll be friends for life
She'll be just like a wife
I'm gonna' catch that horse if I can

And we were falling down this crevice, about a mile down
I'd say! I look down and I see this red thing below us
It's our reflection in a little pool of water
About six feet wide, and one foot deep
And we're comin' up real fast
Crawling down right through it
We hit and we splashed it dry
That's when I lost my hold and she got away
But I'm gonna' try to get her again some day

I'm gonna' catch that horse if I can
And when I do I'll give her my brand
And we'll be friends for life
She'll be just like a wife
I'm gonna' catch that horse
I'm gonna' catch that horse
I'm gonna' catch that horse if I can
I'm gonna' catch that horse if I can

This whole horses thing reminds me of a couple of weeks ago when I was out with Mrs. AP. We were walking through Leicester and past one of it's many derelict cinemas (for the sake of clarity, it was the old Cannon cinema, not the huge fuck-scary old Odeon). I told her that within said cinema was a huge horse which was abandoned there as a young'un, but it never stopped growing until the point where it now has to sit down with its neck arched downwards due to the restrictive nature of the ceiling. If you were to go in and see it, it would go (in a subtle Northern accent which I can't really describe here) "Hullo!-I'm-a-Horse!", and not much else because it's life within the building meant it never really gained a good command of the English language.

The story was so effective that Mrs. AP actually started crying :S

I'm a bastard...

So I had to cheer her up by telling her that it was happy in there because that was its life and didn't know any different.

Women are strange sometimes..

I'm not sure how best to phrase this mate, But how old is Mrs AP?

Posted by arsepuppy, 11:09, 30th January 2004:

22, you sick, sick man. (She may have been on the rag though)

I recently tried to convince her my dad was Chinese, and also that the Chinese calendar worked on a hierarchy of animals based on size, i.e. years are named after smallish animals (monkey, small dragon, etc.), but I told her that months were named after smaller animals, hence the first month being 'worms' and the fourth, 'budgie'. She didn't believe a fucking word of it. Despite me going on about it for a week.

I just had a thought. Perhaps the man in arsepuppy's tall tale had buttered up the horse by getting it thoroughly pissed on Pimms before the horse served as a wife replacement to him. Intoxicated equine rape!! (And you thought the MJers were annoying, wait until we get representatives from the Man Horse Love Association)
