Don't you hate it when you fart in the office, thinking everyone's gone home, and then some dumb ass comes back for something? Walks right into it? Damn. Shit. Red Face. sorry I know that's gross

Marriage; it depends. Would be quite nice. Hah, chance would be a fine thing.

As for children, it depends. Not sure if I want to pass on my genes all that much.
Posted by Uma, 14:51, 11th February 2004:

You could pass on all but the sarky gene! oops forgot :)
Posted by Uma, 15:34, 11th February 2004:

Oops, I'm late...better go now. Bye everybody (if anybody's there)

Marriage: With the right person.
Children: Ditto. I'm rather ambivalent about it.
Farting: Heh heh. Yes, farts are funny.

Marriage: dec 11 this year
Children: if all goes well, sometime around 2009.

Well, I've been married for, er, (takes shoes and socks of to count to more thant ten) over 28 years and I have two adult kids. I'm quite happy with that situation and am generally in favour of 'the nuclear family' though I understand that it doesn't suit everyone. However, recent research seems to show that kids benefit from living in a stable family with a 'traditional' mum and dad.

*Switches to 'grumpy old man' mode*

What I'm NOT in favour of is HUGE bloody weddings (unless whoever is footing the bill is flithy rich, in which case, go right ahead). It is SO expensive to organise a wedding these days that yer average person is gonna either have to save up for yonks or take out a loan to cover the cost. I think the money would be better spent setting up the family home. It seems crazy to me to spend hundreds of pounds/dollars/rand/kwatcha/(insert currency of choice here) on a dress that will only be worn once, and a whole lot of other stuff that will also only be used once. And it gets terribly complicated with a traditional wedding, deciding who to invite, who you can get away with NOT inviting, menus, venues, what the bride, groom, ushers, best man, bride's maids, etc. are going to wear, etc, etc.

If I was getting married again, I'd do it cheap and cheerful.

Children - great. They are expensive, make lots of noise, never want to leave your side and appear to live on chocolate. Several times a day, my boys tell me that they love me and THAT is the best thing in the world. AND when I eventually reach 40, I will have 2 very handsome young men to take me out to dinner :-)

heh heh WarHead! I agree. I would rather have a small wedding and use the money to go on a nice honeymoon. Most of the hoards that one invites don't really appreciate it anyway, to them it's just another wedding they have to go to. I think it must be close people only.

Friday, yes, it must be wonderful when your child says I love you Mom. Wow! Just to be called Mom would be so weird, but nice :)

or mum?
Posted by Uma, 08:51, 12th February 2004:

Or Mum

especially Mummy ;-)
Posted by Uma, 09:16, 12th February 2004:

or Mommy? he he
Posted by WarHead, 09:43, 12th February 2004:

When my kids call me mom/mum/mommy/mummy I just give them a slap for taking the piss.

Friday - you think your kids will be taking you out to dinner when you're 40!!!!! You have a lot to learn, young man. Believe me, if you go out to dinner with them when you're 40, you'll still end up paying for it.

Warhead is angeldelight really your daughter?
Posted by friday, 11:59, 12th February 2004:

Ha! I'm not a man, I'm all WOMAN and the money wasn't the point, it was the fact that 2 handsome YOUNG men will be taking me, the old grey mare (not yet - when I'm 40) out to dinner! So nerr!
Posted by angeldelight, 13:12, 12th February 2004:

Posted by Uma, 13:29, 12th February 2004:
