Best gig ever; Smashing Pumpkins at the Dominian Theatre, or The Crocketts at the LA2. Or Pulp at Finsbury Park. Not sure.

I wanted to go see Love in Brighton, but I ain't got the cash.

Hmmm, best gig ever was probably Procul Harum with the Halle Orchestra and Choir at the Bridgewater Hall a couple of years ago. (Yes, the aging hippy is alive and well and living in Manchester).

Another interesting one was Bruce Hornsby and The Range about 10 years ago at The Apollo. Instead of the usual set he ended up playing requests all night, including a couple of songs that are not in his usual repertoire.

Most recent was Tony Hadley with Peter Cox (and Richard Drummie), again at the Bridgewater Hall. Even though the audience was mostly wrinkleys like me, a good time was had.

I am so jealous, you guys get all the great bands.

I saw Jethro Tull for the first time ever on the J-Tull.com tour. Musically they were fine, but Ian Anderson just can't hit the high notes these days, which is a shame. I wish I'd seen them in their heyday.

Gary Brooker, on the other hand, can still do the biz.

I can't decide between Bowie in 83 and the stranglers in 80. I love Bowie , even named my daughter after one of his songs. But the Stranglers are my all time favourite group, I saw Bowie a couple of years later and he was shite, and I was bitterly disapointed.

I saw "kevin bloody wilson" last year, and he was the funniest I have ever seen.

Or Starman. That would rock.

This is James, Dave, Adrian and Starman.

Nice one.
