Well, the weekend is finally here, (almost)so I thought I'd ask you all what you enjoy doing most on the weekend. I like to go to this one bookstore that has a coffee shop right next to it. People stroll along, get a book or the paper and sit and read while having a cappuccino or breakfast. Lovely! The smell of coffee as you walk by is too much to resist! What do you guys do in London etc

I hate coffee. But I might peek in some bookshops. I've got some research to do, so I'll most probably get that out the way this weekend.

Normally me and Mrs Warhead do the big grocery shop for the coming week, then she tries to get me to do some little jobs around the house, and I procrastinate as much as possible. I can give 1001 excuses why it's not a good idea to try to hide my hi-fi gear in some sort of Welsh dresser and move all the CD storage boxes from one wall into an alcove.

On Saturday evening we usually socialise with our neighbours who are our very best friends. In the winter we'll have supper and maybe play a board game, in the summer months we'll get pissed in the garden instead and maybe have a barby.

On Sunday we'll catch up on any other little jobs that need doing; I may do some gardening if the weather permits. We may catch up on TV that I've videod during the week, or watch a film.

Boring stuff eh?

However, I'm working this week-end because we have an office reorganisation going on, so come Monday I'll be knackered.

Not boring! I like that bit about getting pissed in the garden! I can just picture the the two of you staggering about laughing your heads off. It's crap to work on the weekend, god, i can harldy work in the week!

This weekend I shall be:

Drinking lots, smoking lots, and having sex.

*groan* you are one cruel man, Foggie
Posted by Foghorn Leghorn, 13:37, 13th February 2004:

Why? Surely you can buy Tequila and fags where you are?

If its the sex bit, then buy yourself a rabbit, and a lot of batteries.

tom, you are so right...it was about weekend passtimes. Shouldn't let it go that way...it was Foggie's fault.

fuck all to with me

It's also nice to go for long walks. Not horrible rushy ones like you have to do in the gym. Just walking for the sake of getting some fresh air. We have to sit in these god-awful offices all week...it's nice to get away from it for a while. Take a stroll.
Only trouble is, everybodies goddam dog barks at you all along the route if you go in your neighbourhood. Grrr. One came charging out at me the other day! Somebody'd forgotten to close their gate. I got such a fright! But he jumped up against me and licked me in the face! 'twas cool!

Aw, no. You must get those boys of yours inspanned.
Posted by Uma, 17:36, 13th February 2004:

I had better hit the road...it gets real scary here this late. I'm sure there's a spook in this building. Or the walls are contracting or something, weird groaning noises. Oh, my god, and it's Friday the 13th. I'm outa here! Bye Friday...

I will be at home snuggled with my man, sex, shopping, sex, going clubbing, more sex, photo shoots, sex and just enjoying my two days off from work.

OK - now there's a word I've never heard before - inspanned.

Looks it up.

in•span
Pronunciation: (in-span'), [key]
—v.t., -spanned, -span•ning. South Africa.
to yoke or harness.

Well I never .....

What does it say for passtimes?
Posted by Brock, 22:48, 13th February 2004:

/looks it up in "Brocks Dictionary of English, and it's Bastardisation within the Colonies"

Passtimes:

A chore, occasion or activity that is considered undesirable or unpleasant by an individual. The word is usually used to indicate that the individual declines (or passes) to participate in said action, prefering to occupy themselves in another way.

Rather enlightening, I thought...

my housework qualifies then :-)

although I did it very quickly yesterday evening and have managed to do some work AND the kids are staying at a friends - so I might get to hit the town tonight for the first time since New Years Eve!

Weekends... i work in a pub, so the best thing for me

So, any weekend i don't work, is a great weekend :)
