i dont see why no one actually cares about teen suicide these days. i almost OD\'d and the hospital acted like it was nothing! it was sickening and sad. i still wish to die amd find my only outlet in writing

maybe because teen suiciders are mostly selfish and parade the fact that they're a "teen suicide survivor" around the internet for attention?

Being a teenager sucks. Get over it. Anyway, I'd ramble about natural selection, but that would just be too cruel.

We've all been there, some more so than others, and yes it sucks, and i'm 99% sure
you don't actually want to die. If you feel like you do, get some help.
And of course the hospital will act like its nothing, because they can tell the difference
between someone who really wants to die (you know, has really made things difficult for them)
and someone who just needs attention. If you go to hospital looking for attention, thats exactly
the thing that you won't get. They don't want you coming back! A&E departments are busy enough without having to patch up people who cut themselves or took some extra painkillers and then called themselves an ambulance. Think of all the people who were in genuine accidents, who could have missed out on treatment, because of your selfishness. Once again, i'm not saying things aren't bad, and it doesn't hurt, but there are many more constructive and less selfish ways to deal with it.

Hear Hear. If you think you have it bad, go and speak to a homeless 15 year old, or an Ethiopian Family who live 5 miles from the nearest drinking water, or a Russian Family who have to queue for up to 5 hours just to be able to buy their food for a week...

Tthings only seem bad cos they seem to be the worst things you know about. So get a book and realise how fortunate you are by looking at peoples lives that genuinely have it hard.

Exactly, i mean, my friends say i've had a shit life, and yeah, things get me down, and when i was a teenager i felt like that, but i've got my shit together now, i know i can take control, and i'm lucky to have that ability, and a roof over my head and all that! I look back at the old me and think "knob".
It doesn't mean i feel guilty for feeling shit, because everyone does sometimes, but, i do wish i hadn't moaned so much and got myself in as much of a hole as i did.

While I agree that our teenage friend here is seeking some attention I'll argue that anyone who has attempted suicide for whatever reason has mental issues that need to be seen to. Its the responsibility of the hospital that they go into to start that ball rolling on that front. While it may seem like a waste of resources to treat teenagers and reassure them that the angst they feel is totally normal it is beneficial for them. How can we possibly tell someone who's at the end of their tether to fuck off and look at how bad other peoples lives are. We all know that looking at how bad someone elses life is isnt going to make us turn around and go "wow, look at that sucker, I'm sure glad I aint him". It just doesnt happen like that. By sending people away and telling them quite bluntly that "you're just craving attention and you aint gonna get it from me and dont deserve it in the way your going about it" we're just adding to the problems they already feel are on top of them.

Speak to the samaritans, you can do it over email, they're the best people to talk to about how you feel. They'll give you your options without forcing opinion on you.

But on a side note: An OD? You big gayer! Unless youre using some fucking hard drugs an OD is a fucking shite way to go about topping yourself. If you wanna dead yourself construct some contraption that will make the papers. Possibly involving a sharp blade against your temple and the the exact time Ross says "we were on a break" in that last episode Friends.

I'm sorry, but if your complaining about the doctors not caring about you overdosing, I would consider myself glad they didnt care. And I hate to be rude, but it's the plain truth, get the fuck over yourself. Your only cry is for attention and it is the most pathetic one I have ever heard. You need some serious help if you want attention that bad. There are some people out there who try to kill themselves so hard, and when someone else finds out and they get sent away, they finally suceed and you know it was only because they wanted to be left alone. You on the other hand, Crimsonregret, are self-absorbed, concited, and one of the biggest attention whores I have ever talked to online, not met. Just do the world a favor and don't try to kill yourself anymore. Go call one of your friends who trys to kill herself, just to fit in like you do. Got it? good. Sorry for this being so rude, but it's the truth and I hate seeing people like this. It's just pathetic.

If you were really serious about killing yourself you should cut the arteries on your thigh. You will bleed out in about four minutes and there would be little chance of someone saving you. I personally would go into a hospital and tell a doctor that i want to donate my organs and then shoot myself in the head.

I would rather not talk about how I would like to kill myself, because it is just plain stupid. You shouldn't go around telling everyone you want, or are going, to kill youself. You might as well have someone put a sighn on your back that says " I want to kill myself" or have someone post an article in the newspaper.

I agree with arsepuppy's comment above about the "goth kids" I see it almost every day and it's fucking ridiculous how they try so hard to be outcasts.

The school I'm at is overrun with them. I'd say about half the people here are "goth".

It's one of those complicated things really. There's such a fine line between people
who really mean it and do need help, and people who just need to sort their shit out.
At the end of the day isn't everyone better sorting themselves out? It's nice
to have help from other people but you can never rely on it, and it can
be dangerous to try and help someone in that situation as they can end up leaning on
you too much. If that makes any sense?

Yeah, but think.. you know, 10 mardy teenagers come up to me, and they all say that they're going to kill themselves. I say "Go the heck away, sort yourself out!"
