Not the kind that you get after sunbathing in a bikini, but strap lines as in the title of a web page.
Question: what part does the strap line play in search engines, such as google and also - can anyone explain to me exactly what META tags are, what use they are and how you put them (and where) in a html document.
That was 2 questions - but it's friday so I should be able to get away with it!

1) straps lines mess up google. they're not really any use, other than being slightly amusing
2) meta tags let you add headers to a page, as if the server sent those headers with the request. you can do stuff like keywords and description (for search engines), content type (for setting character sets), refresh (for auto matci redirection) and a bunch of others

thanks cal, so in simple terms, like for me, I build static websites and update them manually (coz I cant get to grips with designing anything more complicated) - I can put keywords about my site, as meta tags, to help people searching for Malawi, get the choice of clicking on my link?
Where do I put them - in the header?
like here is the html for a blank page:
Untitled Document
where in that lot do I put the meta tags and how do I present them, like just words? in my case Malawi etc etc

Cal: you should do a page in 'Extra Stuff' charting the history of iamcal straplines and their origins, etc. (possibly even having links to the posts where the lines come from, and so on)
There was a thread sometime where all the Strap Lines were... and it said who had said them and all that.,..
How about: Iamcal - Gently rotating Dr Johnston in his grave.
Or Iamcal - The grease on the slippery slope to damnation.
Iamcal - You MJ'ers can kiss our collective arses.
No, can't find it. Found this;
oh!, but not what i was looking for.

Wow... I used to be funny back then, I guess it stopped when I got back to uni. Final-year higher education tends to suck the life out of you :(
Yeah, you were funny then.
What happened to you, man? You used to be cool...
