Only just realised it's pancake day, according to the BBC website.
I thought it was supposed to be in March?
Anyone know, or care, on this day of deep seated apathy what dictates the date of Shrove Tuesday?

Pancake day is Shrove Tuesday (hence using up the milk and eggs before lent) Ash Wednesday (tomorrow) is the first day of lent. That lasts 40 days and night followed by Good Friday and then the Easter weekend
Easter changes position each year based on the first full moon after the vernal equinox. So it varies between March 22 and April 25.
So Sunday 11th April is Easter this year and all the other dates related to it move accordingly. So sometimes Pancake Day is later and sometimes it's earlier.
/here endeth the lesson ;)

So.. Just double checking, does that mean lent starts today?? If so, BOLLOCKS!!! (Last few years i've given up alcohol for lent...this year i completely forgot, and

What should i do?
a) not drink, and be bored watching everyone get pissed around me

Abe: Tosser.
Herr Flick was funny, I think she might be either Edith or one of the British Airmen.
Cheers mate.

Rosie dear, I don't think it will cause any difficulties with our relationship, but i love 'Allo 'Allo. It's the only french thing i like.
Apart that amusing video of the German Army marching triumphantly under the Arc De Triomphe. That was pretty fucking funny.

Posted by
Rosie, 16:10, 25th February 2004:

Posted by
Brock, 16:13, 25th February 2004:
Um. In my humble opinion, 'Allo, 'Allo could hardly be
less french, anyway.
None of the cast are french, and it was filmed here. So strictly speaking it is a parody of the french, so Abe has the same viewpoint as you, really Rosie.

Alfie, 16:14, 25th February 2004:

The Darkness fucking ROCK! I got Permission to Land for me birthday last week and it's the dog's bollocks. The lyrics are SO cheesy .... in fact they go beyond cheesy and back around to genius. I annoy the fuckers on the bus to work by playing it loudly on me minidisk. They must all think I'm bonkers, as man of MY age into that stuff.
They are great. I was just informing Sul that the song 'Growing on me' is about pubic lice.
