It looks like I'm going to be in London for 3 months, starting next monday !
It's a new assignment for work and I'm vey excited, just a little worried it might fall through at the last minute.

Nothing sensible has been arranged yet in the way of flights, a place to live, where the job is (it's for BSkyB ?), what I'm going to be doing there etc. etc. but hey, it's not till monday :D
Posted by Abe Frohman, 20:19, 25th February 2004:

Good work! Don't worry, sul and i will get you nice and drunk.
Posted by Alfie, 20:27, 25th February 2004:

I might pop in for a pint too
Posted by Miki, 20:31, 25th February 2004:

thanks abe, interested to see how you are going to accomplish that with me only drinking Pepsi Max

I'm trying to find a furnished appartment near BSkyB and useful train stations, which is a bit of a challenge since
1. I don't know London
2. I don't know where exactly BSkyB is (other then the term Southbank)
3. I don't exactly know what trainstation would be useful to get to Reading/Purley-on-Thames (Waterloo ?)

anyone wanna help ?
Posted by Abe Frohman, 20:37, 25th February 2004:

1) Can't really pass on my limited knowledge of London.
2) Dunno
3) Waterloo

thanks ! :P

The Southbank is the Waterloo area so that will be handy for you.
No idea on renting places, sorry.
Waterloo is fine for reading. A bit noisy but the lighting is good.

I now have an adress (it's not a BSkyB site but a Cap Gemini site !)
95-97 Wandsworth Road

I will be in a hotel near there the first week and trying to find a furnished flat very quickly :)

The flight is booked, the hotel is booked, people are expecting us. It's starting to look like it's really going to happen

sorry abe, I don't smoke either, hope it doesn't make you think less of me :(
Posted by Abe Frohman, 17:37, 26th February 2004:

I used to live near the Wandsworth Road. In fact, My work is at the top of the Wandsworth Road, just by Vauxhall Cross.
Posted by Abe Frohman, 17:37, 26th February 2004:

And don't worry about it, I don't smoke either, I just thought it was obligatory for you Dutch types.

A chav is a bum then? A tramp? Hobo?
Posted by Perclissigi, 19:24, 26th February 2004:

www.chavscum.co.uk should explain that one :)
They are the scum of the earth and the bane of my existence.
Posted by arsepuppy, 19:26, 26th February 2004:

A chav is an antisocial youth, usually dressed in tracksuits who flock in groups, wear tacky, ostentatious designer clothing, cheap jewellery, and like to intimidate normal people. It is not (as some ignorant kneejerkers may have you believe) an umbrella term for the working class.
Posted by Perclissigi, 19:26, 26th February 2004:

by the way hey Uma how are you? long time no chat! and you're not usually online this late?

Posted by Uma, 19:34, 26th February 2004:

What menstrual blitzkrieg? Missed it, obviously? Hello Perci, darlin' - I have PC at home now, so now you'll *never* be rid of me. Doing fine...and you?
Posted by arsepuppy, 19:34, 26th February 2004:

Posted by arsepuppy, 19:36, 26th February 2004:

Uma: Ok, maybe that's an overreaction, but it was strange how he, despite a very flimsy cover, went on and on and on about it not being him to the point of near 'foot-stamping'. I like the guy, but it was so tedious.
Posted by Uma, 19:38, 26th February 2004:

To be honest ap, at one stage I thought Alfie was you, because only you would be that horrible to me ;(
Posted by Abe Frohman, 19:39, 26th February 2004:

Unfortunately...or maybe it IS fortunate, 'ey warhead?
Posted by arsepuppy, 20:09, 26th February 2004:

Perc: I think 'pickledpizza' started it (cal and 100%Kitten are the ones to ask really, not me, I haven't lurked there for a while) and I think it was an injoke between him and a few others, doing things like posting Erik Estrada pics saying "You Can't Fucking Hummus" etc. Trouble is, when its usage became common among b3tans it heralded a decline of sorts. But essentially, that's all I know. I don't think it actually means anything though but people were eager to know what it meant and then fucking *everybody* started saying it at one point.

Never explain in-jokes, I guess.
Posted by WarHead, 20:09, 26th February 2004:

I'm regrettably inclined to agree with Uma.

Oh dear, it's going to be 'Get a room' time again soon.

Unfortunatly, the thread where it was first coined was lost in the Great Crash of 2002 when the site went down for a day (probably due to cal's shoddy maintenance, it would never have happened to Sal. Or Grimothy for that matter) But the essence of it is that Chay and I would use *&^*(^^%^**& when we totally changed time in an Excellent way.
