Right, while cal is on a plane and can't cuss me to the moon and back...

Is Flickr all it's cracked up to be? Or is it too early on to be the marvel that it seems to be being hyped as? I've been on there a fair few times, and don't see the big fuss, it's not in my opinion much better than sites such as this one. Is it that it is a central place for this sort of thing to make them more accessible, or am I missing something...?

Of course, I may be stupid. Not to be discounted, and worth mentioning, i thought.. ;)

You better edit this before he gets back. Flickr is his new baby

...shit I see you also posted under 'intro' - bummer when that happens hey?

"You better edit this before he gets back."

Yeah but he can read all edited messages.

Besides, Brock...have you been able to launch the product yet? I haven't, I think because of the firewall here or so I am told

Hello sir!
Posted by Brock, 14:47, 1st March 2004:

I have expressed the opinin that I may be missing the big fuss, cos i don't understand it. That's hardly derogotary, is it?

And yes, I have managed to launch it. Just looked like a chatroom thingy, really. Not sure why that makes it special, but like I say, maybe I am missing something. Read the second post again!

Yes sir!

It lacks the cal-charisma. That's why he had to go over there
you'll see, soon it'll be as sexy as this site

nope. cos I'll still be here! :P

Flickr is really cool. Not only is it a chat room, you drag and drop images into the chat window.

I don't know any other social software that you can do that online.

I'm all for it, I think it's cool!

It looks cool, but I've still been unable to launch the application due to the firewall here. I might try on a PC sometime.

the photo sharing is the point of it.

Hmmm, well the shoebox keeps screwing up on me and giving errors. Evey time I try to upload anything I get an error message and have to refresh, which chucks me out of the convo I'm in.
Posted by Brock, 09:24, 2nd March 2004:

I thought you could drag and drop images in MSN. In fact, I have. So I am assuming there is a slightly different trick to it somewhere...
Posted by cal, 19:46, 2nd March 2004:

wh: what error do you get?
Posted by WarHead, 19:47, 2nd March 2004:

I'll tell you in a minute, if I still get it

Mr Cal! Save me! Someone stole my login and slagged off your lovely project thingy!

I think I have wrestled it back from them, now though.

I was on flickr tonight for a while. The picture thing works well.
Posted by WarHead, 23:14, 3rd March 2004:

I think the picture thing is a gimmick, but not really of much use. And I'm still getting that error message whenever I try to use the shoebox, and also if I try to read the comments on any of the pics.

Is this on this wonder-browser of yours WH?

Opera - AAAAAAaaaaAAAAAaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaarrrssssse
Posted by WarHead, 23:56, 3rd March 2004:

Makes no difference whether I use Opera or IE6 - I get the same error.
Posted by Sul, 00:00, 4th March 2004:

Hmmmm. Perhaps your missus has setup some parental controls.

IE6 is currently fucking my life up at work btw. Lots of linking issues from other MS apps.
Posted by cal, 00:03, 4th March 2004:

wh: i don't see that error when i log in as you - exactly when does it appear?
Posted by WarHead, 00:03, 4th March 2004:

My missus never touches this PC. Thinks it's the work of the devil.
Posted by WarHead, 00:04, 4th March 2004:

Cal: When I click the upload button after I've selected a file.

Either that, or it reject my JPEG file, telling me that only JPEGs or some other file types are allowed.
Posted by cal, 02:50, 5th March 2004:

i think it's something to do with your specific image - could you mail it to me so i can have a test?
Posted by WarHead, 09:52, 5th March 2004:

I've often thought that I have an image problem.
