Oh well....
Welcome to the "Ask Liandle/Uma/Sylvia Anything" thread. Also known as the "Uma Reserves The Right To Ask Any Questions Without Pissing People Off" thread
(I can throw in a Charlize Theron interview too if you ask real nice. She's home...I love her)
If you don't particularly care about it, then don't read this thread. Mostly for the benefit of new members (eg. Uma and Perci), for the purpose of asking all those questions that seem to annoy the old jaded members.

Vic you might want to edit your apology post

It was a faux-apology. But that's a nice little story ^

Is your real name Russel then? I asked you this once before....have you done the Cape Argus yet?
Posted by RUSS, 10:25, 6th March 2004:

yeah my name is Russell, i felt no need to lie about my name when i first logged on. what is cape argus?
Posted by Brock, 10:51, 6th March 2004:

Barbed comments so early in the weekend? Easy RUSS. I didn't think that Uma had annoyed you too much.

Brock isn't my real name, obviously, as it would be a stupid name for a person. (I don't think that it's evil to have a log in name).

You hear that all you yanks? With your stupid arsed names and habit of putting 'Jnr' or 'the 3rd' after them?

If you don't have the imagination to think of a name for your kid, you are too bloody stupid to have one, and should be shot.
Posted by Uma, 10:57, 6th March 2004:

hehe...no, Brock, I had a long sob-story up there, but edited it out because it sucked. I'll send you a copy by email if you really want it. What's your real name, then Brock (first name only if you prefer?)
Posted by Brock, 10:57, 6th March 2004:

Oh, and Uma? I don't live with anyone, girlfriend or flatmate (She asked in another thread). I like my own place, and as for girlfriends, all women are evil and want to steal all my money so I prefer a locked door betwixt me and them till I decide if I can trust them...
Posted by Brock, 11:00, 6th March 2004:

My name is Simon. I don't completely trust the web as I am a cynical old bastard, so that will do for now. No reflection on you or anyone currently on this site, by any means.

i am however, neither as old, or as cynical as Warhead. I need more practice before I can hit those heady heights. Somethiing to look forward to, methinks!
Posted by Uma, 11:02, 6th March 2004:

Are you serious? Not all women are only after money you know. Although lots of them are. You should find one with her own money, then you won't have to worry.
Posted by Uma, 11:04, 6th March 2004:

I would have said that Vic is more cynical than warhead, but there you go
Posted by Brock, 11:06, 6th March 2004:

I am just too soft for my own good. And I have had 2 relationships that have left me seriously skint at the end of them. The first was not really vindictive, it just happened, I suppose. But the second was a crazy fucked up girl who had no control over her life whatsoever, and I ended up screwing my finances trying to help her, and/or make her happy with very little sign of appreciation.

She was the sort of person that if you weren't spending lots of time or money on her constantly, she would go into a mood and start the whole "You don't care about me" argument and guilt trip. She did it very well. Was suckered into it for a while before I slapped myself in the face and told her to get lost. She was a compulsive liar, too. Total freak.

Russ: It's a cycle-race here in South Africa (Cape Town) I thought you might have done it since you did the London Cycle Race or was that the London Marathon? I forget...or maybe you've heard of the Comrades Marathon?

Brock I have the same problem with men. The wrotten ones ruin it for the rest and make us all suspicious of each other. You sound like a nice guy, though :) and you're very funny :D
(no flirting/ etc etc intended)
Posted by Brock, 11:29, 6th March 2004:

There may be no intention there, but you can't help yourself! I'm goddamn irresistable!

People laugh at me all the time. Oh. hang on. Just thought of another explanation for that :(
Posted by Brock, 11:31, 6th March 2004:

for the benefit of any later and/or stupid readers of this thread, there is always a certain level of irony and or sarcasm in any such comments I make about myself. If you are american, look up irony in the dictionary, and try to get the nearest English person to explain it to you. Thanks for listening, rat fans

Brock: Tee Hee
Morning all, and how are we on this god-awful saturday?
(well, the weather is mingin here anyway...)
Posted by Doctor Lucid, 15:44, 6th March 2004:

Deary me, why are so many people so harsh about Americans?

And French, for that matter?

I mean, it's kind of lumping a whole load of people together. What about Nov?

But yeah. I don't really have any questions for you Uma. Not at the moment anyway. Now I know what the largest animal you would kill in self defense is, anyway...
Posted by Brock, 18:27, 6th March 2004:

There are always exceptions to prove a particular rule. And Nov is one such (fine) example. Americans in the whole (ie stereotype corresponding) are twats. Due to it's massive size and variety of influences via gene pools of other nations, you do get a reasonable number of normal people that have, by some cruel twist of fate, been born on the wrong side of the Atlantic through no fault of their own.

I think it is important that we recognise their struggle to try and remain normal, nice, sane (and in Nov's case, rather attractive) within their lives despite a seemingly overwhelming influence to eat vast quantities of burgers, spell all the words wrongly by missing letters out, shoot anything that moves, think that the world starts and ends with the USA, and generally be one of the most ignorant countries in the world. I find that amazing considering the massive openess and freedom of information that they all insist upon having that they then choose to ignore it unless it starts/continues/ends entirely within their own borders.
Posted by Brock, 18:28, 6th March 2004:

Oh, and as regards the French?
The idea that I may need to justify that viewpoint is sufficently laughable that I shall assume that you were being sarcastic, and ignore it.

Wow, sweeping generalisations!!

But yeah, I'd understand if there was something particularly good about the inhabitants of this accursed isle (or Kingdom) that such a majority of us call home...

But there isn't.
Posted by Brock, 20:55, 7th March 2004:

I didn't say that we were better than them, just that they are evil.

It wasn't a comparative statement, it was a personal over view.

Yes, I was bored to distraction here at work (Saturday) I came to baby-sit a process that keeps falling over during office hours, so we thought we'd run it on the weekend. Good News : IT WORKED. And the person who was meant to read the original post did. (and Russ. Oops) Not that it will make much difference of course. You all think I'm insane anyway...which is a fairly safe opinion to have :O

1) How old is Doc?
2) Is he a student?
3) Is that his real pic?

Brock do you live in London?
Posted by Brock, 10:45, 8th March 2004:

Nope. There is more to England than London, you know. Even if it isn't very big!

I live near Milton Keynes.

Posted by WarHead, 13:24, 8th March 2004:

Hmm, that's a tricky one to answer. In terms of Only Fools And Horses, it is a stupid fellow. In THIS context, however, it could be construed as being one's leg or chain.

Well, THAT'S nice I MUST say.

I was taking Mrs Warhead to the hostipal, actually, to have a check up on her recent knee op. Then, hey ho, off to Ikea to buy a dog damn self assembly cupboard thingy to hide my hi-fi system which Mrs WH says is an eyesore. I like all them boxes and wires meself. And she's making me put me LPs in the loft. Bloody sacrilege, that is. Just cos I never play 'em these days.

Isn't it a textual representataion of that thing they do in Bill And Ted's Bogus Journey, when they wiggle their fingers like they're playing guitars? I'm not QUITE sure why they use it here though. It could be because they're morons, of course.

Surely Alex Winter has a bit more integrity?
