Posted by Doctor Lucid, 13:24, 17th March 2004:

The kids ought to take to the streets the moment a pint costs more than £3.00. Honestly.

But yeah, I don't know. Tax? Hmm.
Posted by Rosie, 13:29, 17th March 2004:

£3.10 for a pint? Thats dreadful!
Posted by WarHead, 13:29, 17th March 2004:

Fags up? Dun't bother me, I gave up when I was 7.

Beer up? Dun't bother me, Mrs WH pays for that kind of thing.
Posted by Alfie, 13:35, 17th March 2004:

Grolsch is for "Brosettes" -FACT
Posted by Brock, 18:21, 17th March 2004:

No. Actually, they tried to tag onto the highly macho and sexy image that is the "Man that doth drinketh of Grolsch", cos they wanted to attract more chicks. They were worried that they may appear gay and all that. No idea why.
Posted by arsepuppy, 18:39, 17th March 2004:

Yes, teenage female Bros fans from 1987 have 'appearing gay' very high on their fear-list, innit....
Posted by Perclissigi, 18:45, 17th March 2004:

My brother in law used to run a chain of pool clubs in the states and he said that Bud is a ponces drink. Mind you, he polished off a six pack of Kestrel and a teenth of skunk whilst driving (it was a 1 hour journey), so his standards may vary to that of others.

(Not condoning this behaviour, BTW)
Posted by arsepuppy, 18:50, 17th March 2004:

(Abe - I like Grolsch, I just wanted to discredit Brock, innit)
Posted by Brock, 18:52, 17th March 2004:

AP: You spoon. BROS tagged onto the Grolsch image, by wearing the tops off the bottle on their shoes. Because THEY were worried about looking gay. Their fans were copying the band... Duh! Ask your Mum, she'll remember them, and back me up. Maybe the old Smash Hits annuals you found in the loft didn't have good enough pictures, boy.

And, Perci. When you are a man, my son, you too will eschue such poncy drinks as Budweiser. On tap or otherwise. It pains me to say it, but on this point (and only on this point) AP is right.

Dang, that stung!
Posted by arsepuppy, 18:53, 17th March 2004:

Tsk, Perci!
I've been barman at 4 establishments, including a golf club and a large hotel. I win!
Posted by arsepuppy, 18:55, 17th March 2004:

(I thought you were directly responding to my post, hence the confusion. My bad.)
Posted by Perclissigi, 18:55, 17th March 2004:

Meh.
Stella still sucks cock.
Posted by Brock, 18:55, 17th March 2004:

Budweiser is another classic example of Americans stealing something, making it piss weak compared to the original, and then claiming it to be the 'original' or best, or right way of doing it.

Other examples are any film made in the States that portrays any moment in History that features anyone not American. They hijack and water all that down too. Bastards.
Posted by Abe Frohman, 18:56, 17th March 2004:

Shandy for Percy.

And Brock as well while you're going.
Posted by Perclissigi, 18:57, 17th March 2004:

I'll drink something as strong as stella no problem.
Just not stella... there's something in it that sends me loopy.
Posted by arsepuppy, 19:00, 17th March 2004:

As long as it's not bloody Krony...

Fucking French ;)
Posted by Sul, 19:02, 17th March 2004:

Posted by Brock, 19:03, 17th March 2004:

As further proof of the Evil that is Budweiser...

Friday night I was out with a few mates (no. it's true), and I had a nice meal and ended up drinking a bit more than I intended. To the tune of 9 bottles of Grolsch. At this point I didn't feel very drunk (ish). I then went to the late opening pub and had to have 2 bottles of Bud, as the bottle bar was the only one accessible. At this point I started to feel a bit tipsy. AND I then ended up with a massive headache the next day.

See! If I hadn't had those two bloody Bud, I reckon I would have been fine the next day and all that! It's evil!

Stands to reason innit.
Posted by Perclissigi, 19:03, 17th March 2004:

Krony... is actually British.
Posted by Sul, 19:04, 17th March 2004:

Tom, there's obviously something wrong with you. You should get it looked into before you switch to white wine spritzers or something.
Posted by Perclissigi, 19:05, 17th March 2004:

You referring to me as Tom?
Posted by Brock, 19:05, 17th March 2004:

Perci. TWAT!

And Nissans are Geordie are they? It is brewed under license. It does not make it British.
Posted by Perclissigi, 19:06, 17th March 2004:

My grandma is German, does that make me German?
Posted by Abe Frohman, 19:07, 17th March 2004:

Flawless logic on both of those points Brockles ^^
Posted by Brock, 19:08, 17th March 2004:

Perci: Hardly the same thing, nutbag. It is French developed Lager, brewed to a french recipe, by a company working under license from a french company. Sold with a label portraying a french product.

Oh. My mistake. It must be Scandinavian.

Oh. And the Grandma thing? Not any more than it would make you a woman, doofus.
Posted by Perclissigi, 19:09, 17th March 2004:

Owned by Scottish and Newcastle?
Posted by Brock, 19:14, 17th March 2004:

The company working under license, etc. is, yes.

Good points by the rest of the lads. Well done.

yes it is Tom, it's just the first time anyone other
than myself has refered to me by my real name on here,
threw me a little. And like i said, i can drink as much as
anyone else (especially vodka, that stuff hardly touches me)
i just chose not to drink stella.
doesn't make me any less of a man thankyou very much!

Posted by Sul, 19:30, 17th March 2004:

drinking bud does though ;)
Posted by Brock, 19:31, 17th March 2004:

Sul: I was going to pick up on 'dicussing' as a typo, then couldn't be arsed. Then I thought, wouldn't it be fantastic if it actually meant di-cussing, ie "cussing on two different levels or in double cuss-strength".

That would be cool......Oooh a red ferrari!

(before you ask, it's a sort of "I'll get me coat" kind of thing. From an episode of The Osbournes when Ozzy was distracted by one halfway through a tirade of abuse at his son, Jack. Made me laugh a lot.)
Posted by Sul, 19:34, 17th March 2004:

Yeeeeaaaaah! Thats what I meant, innit.
Posted by arsepuppy, 19:35, 17th March 2004:

Alfie: is Reddie's departure permanent? I liked her, she was funny. And dead feisty. Is she coming back?

Posted by Drago, 23:50, 17th March 2004:

£1.05 a pint if you shop around, that's local ale.

£1.25 standard mid-day John Smiths prices.

I'd never pay more than about £2, and that'd have to be like, a bucket.
Posted by Uma, 16:00, 18th March 2004:

Alfie, are you still going out with Redmaiden?
Posted by Alfie, 16:59, 18th March 2004:

yup 10 months next week
