Alfie, 00:31, 23rd March 2004:
Well I've handed in my final year practical project.
the DivX video version is on my site:
www.falling-inlove.co.uk/
its not very well encoded, im hoping to sort out a bigger broadband version soon. I have four other projects to do before I have the time to worry about that though.
:)
The project time was 20 weeks. The actual making the animation part of it was only about 10 or 12 weeks (though during that time there were several other projects to do alongside this one)
the work in this final year is so disproportionate to the workload of all the other years :( so much to do!
Anyway, hope you like it (those who bother to download it :) )

oh and it works best with sound. :)

reitsma, 01:44, 23rd March 2004:
could not find codec.
:o/
tried with windows movie, media player and real player.
so yeah, i got it working with sound, but i suspect it truly works best with sound
and pictures.

Frida Kahlo, That's the one.

5.4M? I don't care how good it might be, I'm on a dial up, so you can kiss my arse!
*grumps*
Posted by
Alfie, 23:11, 23rd March 2004:
5.35Mb doesn't take THAT long on dial up :D
Posted by
Brock, 23:19, 23rd March 2004:
Like fuck! Costs a mighty packet too, Chaymatic dude!
May try and download it at work and bring it back on the memory stick if I remember.
Posted by
Alfie, 23:33, 23rd March 2004:
Costs a mighty packet?
you pay per minute or something?
are you insane?
Posted by
Sul, 23:35, 23rd March 2004:
Well done, mate. I especially like the "is she waving at me?" bit.
Posted by
Brock, 23:37, 23rd March 2004:
Pay per minute:
Yeah, fuckball. That's dial-up for you. It's a phone call.
Posted by
Sul, 23:47, 23rd March 2004:
Yeah 'cause paying a monthly sub is soooo difficult to come by over dialup these days. Err... shitstick.
Posted by
Brock, 23:51, 23rd March 2004:
I've done the maths, actually, and when I look at my actual useage it ain't worth it yet. It's still about £5-£10 a month cheaper (if I don't download 5M files!). And I am moving in probabably less than 2 months (pending for some time) and am not prepared to sign a broadband contract till I am sure that I can get it at the new place...
So there. :P

Sul, 23:55, 23rd March 2004:
Im not talking BB, baby. I'm talking 56k dialup on eve's and weekends at like £6 or something now per month. At your iamcal usage alone I think you'd benefit wallet-wise.
Posted by
Brock, 00:03, 24th March 2004:
Hmmmm.
/searches t'interwebnet-thingy
In my defense, last time I looked it was about £20 or so. I have my dial-up number on BT 'friends and family' as the "Best friend" number so get mega discount (.8p minute, I think) as I do all outgoing calls on my mobiles free minutes anyway.
Hmmm. Reading that back, that makes iamcal.com my best/only friend according to BT, being as I don't ring anyone else from that line...
*sigh*
Probably true. :(
56k? thats like so eighties.

Brock, 00:13, 24th March 2004:
Abe Frohman? That's so eighties.

cheers everyone. tho reitsma just gave away the ending :D lol
Posted by
WarHead, 11:36, 24th March 2004:
Not really. I mean, that doesn't describe the actual even as it happens, and I'm not going to because I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't seen it yet.
Posted by
Brock, 11:40, 24th March 2004:
Yeah, you mean the scavvy 56k'ers, like me, who have been downloading it since a week last Saturday. I'm going to sit down and watch it as a (not very) early Christmas present.
:(

Alfie, 11:49, 24th March 2004:
WarHead: True :)
Brock: :( poor 56er

Awwww :(
Not long to wait for broadband though eh?
Posted by
WarHead, 12:32, 24th March 2004:
Wait? For BroadBand? I've had it for over a year now. It's the dog's wossnames and actually cheaper than dial-up for the ridiculous amount of time I spend on-line. Aren't you in an area serverd by Broadband, Brock?
Yeah, brock has to wait cus he's moving house in a couple of months. No point signing up for a yearly contract really is there? Ya should read the whole thread WH :p hehe
Posted by
WarHead, 12:40, 24th March 2004:
Bolleaux.
Actually, I DID read it, but my short-term memory is shot to pieces.
Posted by
Brock, 12:55, 24th March 2004:
Yeah! Pay attention, Warhead!
I shall be setting a test, if you're not careful.

Uma, 13:12, 24th March 2004:
Don't blame WarHead for his short-term memory problems, blame me. He has a pic of Margaret Thatcher in a bikini on his desktop ;)

Brock, 13:13, 24th March 2004:
Why don't I have one yet?
Posted by
Uma, 13:15, 24th March 2004:
If WarHead approves, I shall send you one
I am his love-slave
WarHead, Brock would like to join your harem
I would like to be third in line, if that's ok?
Posted by
Uma, 13:19, 24th March 2004:
...er...that would be 4th, but never mind
;)
hehe wicked laugh
Posted by
Brock, 13:21, 24th March 2004:
I don't want to join Warheads harem, really, do I? That would mean he could shag me too. I have a strong aversion to the idea of that, I can tell you.
Lovely as I'm sure he probably is, he's far, far too male for my liking.
Whoa, deflate your ego a bit there Uma ;) (Just Kidding)
I'll just have to wait in line...

Uma, 13:31, 24th March 2004:
