Fantasy Premier League
Just wondering if anyone else here on the iac site had entered a team...maybe next season we should do an iac league or something if there's enough interest =]
I have a fantasy footie team, but not through this site. And yes, that would be good.

Nope. In all seriousness, no.
But the only time football remotely interests me is when England play, and that is only on a patriotic level. I appreciate the skill involved, it just doesn't do anything for me as a sport. It seems to attract waaaaayyy too many wankers, playing and watching.
I mean, the whole concept of 'crew' that say "Let's go to the town of our away match, and beat up the people who support the team we are playing, and wreck their pubs" is neanderthal and offensive to anyone with the slightest bit of intelligence.
That would be a valid point if it was 1982.

Really? Been to watch a game at Sixfields recently?

I'm not saying that football hooliganism is as prevelant as it was mid eighties, but to say that it is no longer exists and/or is no longer a problem, is patently wrong. That's why there is so much fuss about England fans getting banned from Europe half the time.
That level of violence doesnt happen any longer, as per what Abe was saying.
Anyway, I am going to the local to watch the footie tonight.
Yeah, I watched Bolton at both Chelsea and Charlton earlier this season and i made a point of going on the rampage down the Kings Road afterwards.

Not to that level, no. But it still goes on. No other sport has this violent following, as far as I am aware.
I am not, in any way, saying that all football fans are violent wankers, or that it causes them to be so. Just that the violent wankers seem to want to watch football.
I kind of agree. Being a Spurs fan I actually hate going to other grounds. I would NEVER step foot in Highbury or Stamford Bridge because I value my life and if we beat Arsenal or Chelsea it would likely kick off afterwards and thats not the kind of situation I'd like to be caught in the middle of!
I agree with the hooliganism comments, it is pathetic. But this is just a fun game to play with friends/co-workers etc so its a LOT different to going to a football match and getting your head kicked in for free.
I go to Old Firm matches and I have never been involved in hooliganism.

OMG I agree with Brock
football = shit

Bet that stings, doesn't it, Alfie?
hee hee
I like football, but I do agree with Brock. It still attracts too many unsavoury types wearing fake Burberry caps and using Football as an excuse to have a punch up. The required level of wankers at a football match isn't "less" - it's "none"

Brock, Sixfields? are you from Northampton?
Damn!!!! Hope we are not neighbours.

I was going to say the same thing. Sixfields is the location of my nearest cinema

Football is bad enough, fantasy fucking football is for sad wankers. Which makes me wonder why I'm not interested in it. I mustn't be as sad as I thought I was.

Nah. I live in Buckingham. Just know a few people that go to watch the Cobblers, and they are nasty, nasty people. Hence me knowing that football violence is still a current problem.

WarHead - don't worry, you are as sad as you thought

Relief!!! I got quite worried there for a moment. I was ringing up removal firms in preparation to vacate Northampton.
Great greasy spoon cafe in Buckingham, though Brock, is it still there?
Oh, and i think there is an all-girl college there too Brock, bet you can be found often lurking around the gates in your flashers mac.

Where abouts? Can't think of one. We go to Tesco for brekkie.
And are you confusing the all-girl college with the (mainly female) Uni?

Its been 10 years since i worked in Buckingham, so maybe the cafe has closed. It was a great little place. Pie and chips for brekkie. mmmmmm
Brock, I shall only show you respect from now on.
Still not kissing your hairy cheesy feet though.
Not really a football person myself. Although Sheffield Utd are quite cool.
Buckinghamshire? Surely that's a lesser version of Hertfordshire?
%$^%^£^%^$ (ohhh!)
