Posted by cal, 14:41, 5th March 2001:

Posted by nobody, 12:04, 6th March 2001:

why dont you use vbulletin found @ vbulletin.com it uses php and a mySQL database its fucking rapid too
Posted by cal, 13:07, 6th March 2001:

Hmm, let me think...Because vB is still not as fast as a fully custom solution perhaps? (answer #43587 in the set)

See? Morons are everywhere. It's true.
Posted by cal, 09:01, 17th April 2001:

Especially at ubbdev.UBBDev : Moron Filter:D
Posted by Suzie, 17:27, 17th April 2001:

Now there's a hack that would be in great demand.. The moron filter.. it would automatically ban people who made more than 10 spelling mistakes per paragraph, people who posted in ALLCAPS and people who asked stupid questions.

That was me, btw. (Stallion)Alright, so I'm a little biased, but you should still try and work in a JOIN or maybe store the reply count in a field.
Posted by cal, 08:17, 18th April 2001:

I think this version of myForum is doing a join actually. And since my join is on two tables with very few fields, i know which is faster :p
Posted by mattjacob, 17:27, 18th April 2001:

scats, i think we've gotten an all-time high of morons at ubbdev in the past few days and weeks. i'm just crossing my fingers and hoping the flow will at least slow down soon...maybe we could just kink the moron hose and they'd stop coming? or tell them that we'd instantly report all warez boards...anything!
Posted by cal, 17:35, 18th April 2001:

(it's lucia not scats)
