And not just anybody (see what I did there?). Bought a new watch today, with a steel strap. All very nice, except the instructions for it are crap and I can't get the links out to make the strap shorter. Anyone have a Casio watch with a steel strap, or any ideas on how to adjust it? I've taken some pictures of it, but I've not got anywhere to stick them (so to speak). If someone is feeling nice, maybe they could post them for me?

As a side thing to stop this thread being completely useful, I saw Cal's double in the pub last night collecting glasses (unless it was Cal, who has a secret double life working in pubs in Wiltshire).

As a side-side thing, I've also noticed I've put this in the intro section, for what difference that makes. First thread I've started, see. Obviously need the practice.

Prepare the ground for a deluge of fuckwits from across the ether thnking that the title means "Help, I need somebody with an infeasibly large chest/dick" and posts accordingly.

That's what usually happens.

Send me the pics if you want (as long as they are small files, I have shite dial up) and I may be able to help...

Oh yeah, hadn't thought of it like that. Meh. Just get your finger ready over the ban button. It's hunting season! (*^%£$(*^%

Pictures on their way, 'bout 40k in total.

Ok. Why are you having trouble here? You need to get a little screwdriver or reasonably sharp point and push it into the hole just above the point of the arrow.

You are trying to push a small 2 pronged forked piece out of the side of the strap. The little circular hole that you can see near the arrow is the inside edge of the fork. Push this in the direction of the arrow till you can grab it. If you look down the edge of the strap you will see two flat pieces. These are two forks pushed in from different sides, you will remove the lower one with this technique and the watch strap will come apart. Keep removing forks till you have taken enough links out.

Then just push them back in again.

OR - Grow your wrists to the size of a man's, stick arm boy!!!111

By the way, does this remove the weight around my neck for "Most boring thread"?

I'm being helpful and everything!

Tried that, although I was using a biro so I wasn't pushing that hard. I'll search for something a bit more pointy and push a bit harder.

No wonder you need to take some links out, you big poof.

Mind you if you can't even push those iddy-bitty forks out, by the time you get the watch on your wrists, you won't be able to lift your hand off the ground...

It could do. I tried adding the bit about seeing Cal's double, but I don't think it's helped. I thought if I posted something pointless about a madman in a futuristic tank, maybe the two would kinda even out.

Aargh. I need to type quicker. Just move all my replies up by one.

Got the forks out OK. Used the pointy tool on my swiss army knife (it does have a use!). It was one of those things where once you're sure you're doing it right you're a bit more willing to give a good hard shove. When I wasn't sure I was too worried about breaking it (didn't really fancy breaking the watch the minute I got it home).

I therefore bow down to your superior watchmaking knowledge.

I tried to think of a way to re-phrase it, but I could only think of things which sounded even worse. I could have said I rammed it with my hard prick.
