ebcdicX - A Lightening fast dedicated EBCDIC/ASCII conversion program
This program is THE fastest conversion program we've ever come across
www.stringx.com/sxEbcdicX.htm
at last, all those wasted hours spent waiting on those constant ascii/ebcdic conversions will be no more!
just think, foggy, if you'd had this program, you'd have had SO much more time you could have typed MUCH MUCH MORE in reply!!!!!11111oneonesamsamloveme

/me begrudgingly finds the extension on the '111!!!' theme rather amusing...

it is written mainly in assembler for speed.
The program can be run from Windows 98 or above
anyone spot the deliberate mistake? what the fuck would it need 98 components for? this program takes about 4 lines of c and a constant table.

Oh. Maybe I was giving Sul and AP too much credit. Someone told me that they had a brain.
My mistake.
You pair of stupid monkey fuckwits.

"Someone told me that they had a brain"
Between them, I hasten to add.

I stopped giving them credit long ago. You should see the tab I have behind the bar, it's like a phone book (but stained with Sul's tears and with all the ladies names crossed out with a biro.)

Is it a chinese phone book?
I reckon Vic'll be in there, what with all the chins and all...

I do
some mainframe work. When I want to convert from EBCDIC to ASCII I just let the mainframe FTP client do that part as long as the entire record is only EBCDIC and doesn't contain any packed decimal crap.
cal: another reason for me to hate unicode.

i'm not sure that's a reason to hate unicode - maybe i'm missing something here. what would you convert to/from unicode and why?

Because horses are dangerous with that great pointy thing sticking out of their noses, obviously!
oh. Wait.
jeffld: i'm frankly gobsmacked anyone here ever USED ebcdic, let alone is STILL using it
