anyone else here using Avant Browser?
www.avantbrowser.com
it's lovely. It's like an alternative browser for people who like the fact that IE displays stuff properly, but wished that it had tabbed browsing and lots of nice options.
it can do translation, skins, open multiple homepages when it starts up (good for people who look at maybe iamcal, their own page and a news site) plus lots of options for clearing records (maybe useful for people like moitio who might want to hide their dodgy viewing from nosey parents.) You can also get it to auto refresh a page which is good for google. It has popup blockers, url blockers and lots of other nice things.
Best thing is it installs using IE as its base, so has all your options and favourites and stuff saved, uses IE's code to display pages, but gives you loads of options.
I've been using it for 20 minutes and it's lovely. Very recommended. Of course I will find out now that people have posted about it before. Probably Moitio. then i will look stupid :(

firefox is lovely.
and for your information, dumbass, IE does not display things properly and it's lazy people like you that are making the internet into a trashcan of poorly written web pages that are "ok because it displays on IE"

sal, 05:11, 5th July 2004:
not that you're a dumbass, you probably aren't. but people with your attitude piss me off. I hope your pc gets killed by IE and all it's various security "features"
:p

so there :P
I didn't say IE didn't have any bugs. Just that as most pages at least display properly in IE (this one included) then I might as well use it. Other people on here have complained about buttons not doing what they should and things not displaying right. And why? Because they are using some other browser. Now maybe it's all miscrosofts fault for insisting on adding stuff to the standard html format and pissing aobut like they usually do. But if I like it why the fuck shouldn't I use it? How will it steal all my passwords when i don't get IE to save my passwords?
If I was lazy I wouldn't have applied every patch to IE and XP so far, and I wouldn't have installed Avant.
And if I'm lazy and a dumbass I wouldn't have gotten the degree I did so you can fuck right off. :p

and Cal's high horse rendering "slap" is better than mine. But I'm not lazy damn it.

Until recently my bank only let you access their site using IE, which fucked me right off because previously Microsoft fooled me into installing IE6 on Win98SE, and it buggered the whole computer. I ripped out as much of it as I could and got it back to IE5, but ever since IE randomly locks my whole computer so I have to switch it off at the wall. Not the ideal setup for looking at banking details with.
I now use Netscape, but only because it's the first thing I came across that wan't IE. People tell me it's shit, but I don't think it's much different from IE except with tabbed windows (which are really useful). I, unlike Alfie,
am too lazy to change.

No real reason. It's just you seem to have got off lightly with the abuse for the last week or so.

It's sounds good, but I have no money, and therefore, my computer is rubbish. Does it require a good machine?

I
was starting to get a bit uneasy, Brock. I wasn't on here much for a week or so, came back and got no abuse for several days. I suppose I could have just called you a knob jockey to bring it upon myself, but that takes the challenge away, innit?

Moitio: if we are still talking about avantbrowser then if your PC can run IE then you can run it
But I'm not sure you are talking about that, I've lost the thread of this thread.

Didn't Clint Eastwood crash Firefox?

Yes, and by a strange coincidence, he crashed it on Firefox Down.
