BBC story

Working for MoD eggheads at the moment as a uni placement (on batteries to power radios I should point out before people get haughty). Bastards have a firewall at work that won't let me look at this site (or indeed anything with a submit button basically) :(

We're still on NT4 because they're so paranoid about USB - rumour is they're getting a special XP build made that won't support USB. Although as someone pointed out, if they were to ban iPods and the like, they should really ban CD-Rs, floppy disks, paper+pens and people's memories just to be sure information doesn't leak out. Can't be too sure.

i was under the impression all civil servants had their brains wiped as a matter of course, for this very reason. or maybe that's an entry requirement. or maybe they just think it's cool.

iPod's should be banned, and people should have iRivers instead.

Brock's leaving?
Posted by Grim..., 09:09, 15th July 2004:

Here's the little 1.5gig one.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm =]

Behind you bollock-breath.
Posted by Victor Menendez, 09:19, 15th July 2004:

oh no he isn't.
Posted by Grim..., 09:21, 15th July 2004:

Oh yes, he is!

Or should it be:

Oh, yes he is!

iRiver looks pretty good. why the disgust?
Posted by Grim..., 13:51, 15th July 2004:

Probably because of the KThanksBye IRC stylee thing.

Obviously, using another IRC stylee thing to express dismay is a bit silly.
Posted by Brock, 14:32, 15th July 2004:

There's an iRiver? There was no link, so I just assumed it was a shit gag.
Posted by Grim..., 14:42, 15th July 2004:

It's about as funny as most of your jokes, so I can see why you thought that.
Posted by Brock, 14:44, 15th July 2004:

Um.

Fuck off, Grim?

Yeah. That'll do as a riposte. Can't be arsed to start an argument.
Posted by Victor Menendez, 14:46, 15th July 2004:

Oscar? is that you? back from the dead?

(that would explain the arse-fucking as well)
Posted by Grim..., 14:49, 15th July 2004:

Can't be arsed to start an argument.

Run that through Bablefish and you get:
Eek - looks like I'm wrong again!
Posted by Brock, 15:02, 15th July 2004:

I would prefer under-informed. I hadn't heard of an iRiver.

If you need your little pseudo-victories to fatten your cock, Grim..., then go ahead. Hardly worth it in my opinion, but I suppose they are rare enough that you have to take them when you can...

;)
Posted by Brock, 15:04, 15th July 2004:

Anyway, the argument was going to be about you saying my jokes are shit. And you were never going to win that one, let's face it.

I'm bloody funny, I am. People laugh at me all the time.

Oh. Wait.
Posted by Grim..., 15:13, 15th July 2004:

Anyway, the iRiver is sweeet.

I borrowed one for a while and I used to tell it to record Radio 1 at 3am for two hours, so I could listen to Annie Nightingale the next day. It's got a radio built in, you see.

Wow. Something/someone that used to listen to you? Well there had to be one I suppose.
Posted by Victor Menendez, 15:50, 15th July 2004:

Well you really proved your jokes aren't shit with that little gem.
Posted by Grim..., 16:08, 15th July 2004:

I don't get it - are you suggesting I'm on Radio 1?
Posted by Grim..., 16:11, 15th July 2004:

Or that I'm Annie Nightingale?
Posted by Victor Menendez, 16:12, 15th July 2004:

I think he is referring to 'tell it'
Posted by Saltation, 16:13, 15th July 2004:

it's the dress, innit. it confuses brock.
Posted by Brock, 16:20, 15th July 2004:

Who was joking?

I genuinely express surprise that anything were to listen to Grim. Surely even a simple music player would forge it's own conciousness rather than follow his instructions?
Posted by Grim..., 16:20, 15th July 2004:

Vic: Ah. Ahahahaha. Ha.
Salt: Could be.
Posted by Grim..., 16:21, 15th July 2004:

Brock: Then you're a bit daft.
Posted by Brock, 16:23, 15th July 2004:

You really put some venom into that insult, didn't you?
Posted by Grim..., 16:24, 15th July 2004:

No.
Posted by Brock, 16:31, 15th July 2004:

/me finds myself incensed by Grim...'s insult and rushes over in a fit of temper and...

and...

and...

ruffles his hair a bit.
Posted by Grim..., 16:37, 15th July 2004:

There's a bit of a story behind 'daft'.

I typed 'Brock: You're a fucking retard', but then I remembered a play I saw at the 'special' school my girlfriend works out, and, frankly, all of the kids were more interesting to have a conversation with that you have been lately.

So I changed it.

Sorry to interupt the bickering boys, but could someone tell me what programme that picture is from in Vics profile?

carry on....

No idea Rosie.

is it nogging the nog or something?

*or did I just make that up?*
