got this as an interview tech. question this afternoon: "what does 'information-hiding' mean?"

i'm interested to see if anyone's first (answering-question-sensibly) answer matches his.

Yeah, well they don't call your hidden patch "the fire garden" for no reason, and we all give the bikers what they want. We want music you can tap your feet along to and when the brass section kicks in at exactly the right moment. I know that you know that I know what I'm talking about. To turn back on your works as a young man and be an old man and think "god, did I actually solve all the problems of philosophy when I was just a lad in the trenches?" Ay, there's the frikkin rub, sonny. Heck, we spent the evening with the other next generation, and boy, were our eyes opened. Do we know how to party? Hell yeah, we sure know Darcy Tyler alright. We're bringing a whole new meaning to the words "party special", and that includes the mayonnaise and the lettuce and the finely wrapped pitta bread, like a newly trimmed and creased white rizla paper. They don't call me Lucy Record for nothing. Actually, they don't call em Lucy Record at all. It's always the old jokes that make you laugh the most. Must be the way you tell them.

cal: you got the same "wrong answer" i did (altho you remembered its name, i was forced to describe it as only exposing what was necessary for other objects to interact)

no, the "correct answer" is "using Set and Get functions"
