22. Nope - although I'm not too sure exactly what you was thinking there but lets hope its not what I think you were thinking.
41. Sure is

Isreal? Sorry, dont get. Can someone explain it to thicko here.
37. I dont think so. That's in australia right?
22. No.
It's not a "cricketing term" but it's cricket related. Offside bowling and leg bowling are two types of bowling. This one can bowl either. Bolivia.
Posted by
Sul, 17:20, 5th August 2004:
Norway and Isreal updated.
Still not sure on Bolivia mainly because of the left handed bit.

i'm still not sure whether 53 is Paraguay or maldives...
I still think "Metal slows down and relaxes" is Barbados.
Metal comes in BARs
To slow down is to BAY (as in 'keep Sul at bay')
To relax is to DOS
I vouch for my suggestion of Bolivia. There's 398 countries on this planet - none of the others fit that clue (and there isn't a country called Gold Coast. Or Sardinia for that matter.)
Posted by
Brock, 10:18, 6th August 2004:
"To slow down is to BAY"
Nope. That is not a definition of Bay, by any means... It has nothing to do with slowing down.
"The position of having been checked, slowed or held at a distance" it says in my dictionary.
Posted by
Brock, 10:59, 6th August 2004:
Don't care. Is it a stupid American dictionary?
Cambridge and Longmans have nothing of the sort, as a serious answer to this. It's certainly always been connected with 'holding', ie stopped at a distance, rather than reducing the speed of, whenever I have come across it's usage.
Why would I have a stupid American dictionary?
OK, it's not Barbados. What is it?
oh
too much historical reading of late, sorry
