Yes, I read B3ta too.
Posted by Victor Menendezz, around June 2005:

I think Cal used to read emails for them, or something like that.

Looks like a pearoast to me.

i thought he made them cups of tea
Posted by Saltation_DUPE1, around June 2005:

sorry, i should have said "Everyone except Vic should look here because they might find a moment's amusement!"

cal worked on b3ta? i never knew that.
Posted by cal_DUPE1, around June 2005:

i assume that's sarcasm.

if not, i was one of the founders, along with Rob Manuel and Denise Wilton (pep)

"I was one of the founders"

ta-tata-ta-da!

That'd be the trumpet thing then

:P

How much do they get a month in donations, Cal?
Posted by cal_DUPE1, around June 2005:

i'm not at liberty to say
Posted by Grim..., around June 2005:

Are you at liberty to say roughly?

Okay, fair enough, scratch that - do they cover costs?

actually no, i never knew that

well well well. anything practical and fun on the modern interweb, content-presentation-wise, that you've NOT been involved with mate? increasingly impressed.

grim: yes

salt: almost everything else has nothing to do with me
Posted by Brock, around June 2005:

Including that nasty episode with the onkey and the water melon. He denies all involvement in that.

Although obviously we know better. The dirty bastard. I reckon it must have hurt, too.

the onkey and the water melon

Ha, ha, ha, ha, haaaaaaaaaaarrrrrr......

^ The fucker fell off! It was at the bottom ofthe page. Must be a virus.

Sorry salty, It is pretty funny.
Posted by Victor Menendezz, around June 2005:

Can't believe you actually linked a B3ta image though.
Posted by Saltation_DUPE1, around June 2005:

no worries.
is there something wrong with linking them directly? it's b3ta-- they already get hits up the wazoo and are expecting people to load their stuff. that's WHY they put their images up. i didn't see the point of shifting the leech from direct to via flickr.

if iamcal had a slashdot volume i'd be a touch more cautious, mind.
Posted by Saltation_DUPE1, around June 2005:

'course, if iamcal was slashdot-sized and slashdot-l337-infested, i'd probably not be here
Posted by Victor Menendezz, around June 2005:

err, yeah. me neither......
Posted by Doctor Lucid_DUPE1, around June 2005:

I thought it was an M...

I more thought the problem with linking from b3atm3 is that if people wanted to see funny pictures on there, they would do so. And if they didn't, then they would avoid going there.

Sorry, I'm in quite an un-murphy's mood at the moment.

Hmm, only days after questioning Cals B3ta involvement, a name drop crops up in the newsletter, coincidence?
Posted by cal_DUPE1, around 8th June 2005:

it's a conspiricy!

i have (virtually) nothing to do with writing the newsletter. not my fault
Posted by Brock, around 8th June 2005:

hahaha!

(more like a "Don't you know who I am!" email to the people who DO write it, I reckon)
