In my job I see a lot of data. By a lot I mean hundreds of gigabytes of name and address information per month. It never ceases to amaze me on how bad some of the data is. I see phone numbers formatted in all different ways, some have it (nnn) nnn-nnnn or nnn-nnn-nnnn or nnnnnnnnnn ... you get the idea.

Reformating it is part of what I do, but they could save so much time and money if they just do it right in the first place.

so you look at people's names and telephone numbers and make sure they are correct?

seems a bit scary. don't think i could handle more than a few hours of that.
