I'm reading a really good book called Joel On Software

I found it at a book store yesterday. There is a web site joel on sofware.

So far the book is excellent. I'm up to chapter 3. I have a feeling that I will lose my lunch when I get to this chapter The Absolute Minimum Every Software Developer Absolutely, Positively Must Know About Unicode and Character Sets (No Excuses!)

joel is a great guy - heard him speak at etcon this year. he tends to really know what he's talking about.

Sofware?

joel is about the only wholly rational and useful writer i've come across, re software projects' fit-for-purpose. he preaches what i always used to call the CBS Methodology. Common Bloody Sense

For a moment?

Cheeky cow. You should already believe that of ALL threads.

please accept my apologies, can you ever forgive me?
Posted by Brock, around 9th June 2005:

We may be able to discuss terms if you are (*ahem*) prepared to go down on your knees for forgiveness...

;)
Posted by ellipse, around 9th June 2005:

so it's no accepting of the apology then
Posted by Saltation_DUPE1, 10th June 2005:

why not go down on your knees, ellipse? great way to keep them clean.

i'd advise against going down on brock's dick though, as he can't reach to go down on it and no one else will touch it, so it's absolutely filthy.
and not in a good way.

I never expected this thread to lead here. How dare you people sully my thread with such debauchery?

*no offense to sul*

"MY thread"?

Cheeky twat. All your thread are belong to Cal on here, my little chuckie-bollocks. That's so he can steal all the cool lines and jokes that we post on here.

hah, right. i get my wit from brock.

hah

This thread just begs for a "time shift"! I was so very much tempted to do it, but I decided against it.

It would be most excellent.
People just don't ^%*$&^($£&" like they used to :(
Posted by Brock, 10th June 2005:

Cal, you and I both know that you could never hope to even plaguerise my wit. You simply haven't the comedic capacity to even deliver the lines.

Ah, bless.

The little central reservation haircut bloke is in a dream world...
Posted by Alfie_DUPE1, 10th June 2005:

He can't plagurise your wit because it's second hand and out of date already.

From now on I shall call you Rusty.

that's romantic that is, giving your sweetheart pet, it must be love
Posted by Saltation_DUPE1, 10th June 2005:

plaguerise, plagurise (sounds like a tom lehrer song)
plague your eyes, boys: if your english teachers could see you now!

it's a fine line from pedant to pederast, and it appears brock and alfie have toppled over it. hoist on their own pedant, as the old saying goes. tch.

Posted by Saltation_DUPE1, 10th June 2005:

in keeping with mangled phrases: "you gotta go RRRRRRRR"

5 points and 3 blunts to the first to spot the reference/catchphrase.
your time starts... now.
