I like the video to DJ Tiesto's Addagio (sp?) for Strings

Also, I think the most important aspect of a successful music video from a country-wide point of view is probably Sexy Ladies, so all the kiddies will buy it, but if I want sexy ladies, I'll watch TVX, not MTV (:

Not really. It may increase the amount I am prepared to listen to the song if the video is good, though. It probably (in all honesty) will increase it's 'imprint' on my memory though.
No.
Originality, although Hawt chicks affect proviso 2 of my other answer. :)
Gorillaz- Clint Eastwood, I think. But it's hard to decide as period videos are great for reminiscing, but it doesn't necessarily make them good videos per se.

I nearly chose rock, it was a close thing.

Oh, and: Psst... Gorillaz (:

"Special" by Garbage.
Because it's so damned cool despite, I imagine, being made on a fairly small budget and quite a few years ago now. Plus it has planes in it and explosions and has very little to do with the song itself.
Plus Miss Manson taps the dials with her fingers in a very cool manner somewhere towards the end of the video.

If it helps, Perc, I used to fancy a question heir. We had a fleeting romance. I thought I’d never experienced such a truly beautiful thing. We’d while away the hours in front of the log fire, cuddled up, debating the answer to 1.12. Then, on a cold Friday night I shall never forget because I always make a note of the days on which my stomach is pumped, she got a phonecall from her father’s solicitor. He had passed away the previous evening. She was now the proud owner of question 1.13. She left me there and then. Not even revealing the answer to 1.12 to me. No apology for the shameless using of my brain matter. Nothing - the fucking whore.

Anyway – on and up.

Might be too late now but my opinions very rarely count so here goes:

Age: 23

Sex: Male

Preferred Genre of Music: I’ll just say rock. It’s too tough to put a denomination on it.

Does the video for a single determine how much you like it? Not at all. There have been instances in which I’ll watch a video just for the video. The song being just an annoying backgound noise.

Have you ever bought a single just because it had a great video? No.

What do you think is the most important aspect of a successful music video?

-Originality

Though I do like live footage.

What is your favourite music video of all time and why?

Don’t know if I can say it’s my favourite of all time but I fucking love the Chemical Brothers – Let Forever Be video. Gondry shat brilliance onto film for that.
Posted by Sul_DUPE1, around August 2005:

Oooh. Something that has a slight relevance to this thread is a thing that's been annoying me recently. Over zealous dancing to minimally produced (if that’s a term - I mean the songs with just clicks and a couple of bongo hits in them) hiphop/r&b songs. Ciara step forward for number one spot. J-Lo and Beyonce follow and collect your "starters of shit award". It looks like it has been choreographed by a couple of 11 year old girls.

Actually Penfold was a bit of a chubster, so that's quite apt.
Posted by Brock, 16th August 2005:

Exactly. That is why he has taken your crown, Alfie.

Cos you are without doubt slimmer than Perci's new "Fat as a cunting whale" physique.

Shorely shome mishtake?

Wow. I go away for a week or so and sieg heil breaks loose. Hey Sul and AP, nice to see you around again. Have you two ever met, by the way? Just out of interest. Ha, Percy's fat, Brogue's lustful and bald. Nice to see the old "Whee, look at mee, I'm getting some!" trick in a debate. Most famously used in 1983 by Cecil Parkinson in the House of Commons, although probably not the most effective tool to put Michael Foot back in his box. Nevertheless, a fine oratorial technique.

Hah. Percy is the new Vic as well. Which I guess means that Abe Frohman must be the Old Vic, and I claim my ornamental dog.

Anyway, must dash. I don't think I've ever seen very many music vidoes.
