It was the summer of 2005 in Auckland, New Zealand and I stumbled upon Little High Street, an indoor street that links Whitcoulls Bookstore with Vulcan Lane I think. It had a bunch of pretentious indie clothing stores. Manic in particular impressed me and NZ$140 later I left the store with a Buzzcocks tshirt and one with some sort of comic strip on the front. Suddenly I'm the most popular guy in the world, strutting around and sleeping with air hostesses and movie stars and now I am to share the secret.

Actually there's nothing too special about the place, they do some nice tshirts which you could probably do with iron on transfers if you had the time, and for half the price. The designs aren't overly impressive or original either but nonetheless, the feel of the place was good and the one staff member made the whole thing worthwhile. Plus I got a really cool paper bag to carry the clothing items home in.

Wow.
