A man tells his wife that he's going out to buy cigarettes. When he gets to the store he finds out it's closed. So the guy ends up going to the bar to use the vending machine. While there, he has a few beers and begins talking to this beautiful girl. He has a few more beer and the next thing he knows he's in this girl's apartment and having quite a pleasurable time. The next thing he know it was 3:00 AM.
"Oh my, god, my wife is going to kill me!" he exclaimed. "Quick give me some talcum powder!"
She gets him some and he rubs it all over his hands. When he got home his wife is up waiting for him and she's furious. "Where the hell have you been!"
He says, "Well to tell you the truth, I went into a bar, had a few drinks, went home with this blonde and I slept with her." "Let me see your hands!" she demands. He shows his wife his powdery hands.
"Damn liar, you were out bowling again!"
peyote: think about it...
The Sidewinder (I think) had a motion sensor (a sort of mercury switch type thing). The only game I found it any use on was Motocross Madness and thats only because in games of that kind you find yourself throwing the pad all over the place trying to control it anyway.
I think it's generally difficult to use largish body motions in video games when the screen is as small as the average living room TV.
I'm not exactly a huge gaming corporation, as you know, but a one handed controller with motion sensors seems a little - no ALOT - daft to me.

Though, as Salty points out, the multitasking perv will no doubt be over the moon. If they give away a beer hat and a decent porno with it I think my stance on the controller may change. But unfortunatley if that happens I wont have anytime to tell you about it.
Game where you hold a sword + this controller = top fun, surely?
Assuming the game was made to play with this controller.
Don't get me wrong, games like that are great in the arcade for example, but I don't think they'll translate well to the sitting-in-the-living-room-in-front-of-28-inch-tv crowd, or sitting-in-a-tiny-bedroom-in-front-of-an-even-smaller-TV kids. How are you expected to throw around a virtual sword then? I'm no Nintendo, as I said, but making it a main feature of the controller seems odd to me.
Light gun games work okay.
Surely it's the same principal?
Sul: re "porn":
look at the $$revenue porn earns on the net today, then imagine the $$$$$revenue achievable via a 1-handed controller plus a genuinely holographic 3D screen, such that it looks like a real person (albeit small) right in front of you

SFG: Light guns still have only small movements. Sword swings would need to be huge proper swings or there's no point... which is my point.
Salty: That's gonna be some rather strange camera setup required in the porno studio.
Sal: You used to work for a hologramatic TV company?
Sul: Maybe you're right.
I'll get two and you can come to my house and play (;
I'm not sure I'd take you up on that prospect to be honest. But thanks, I'm flattered. :)
Sul: the camera setup is simple, you just need 2 cameras. and if they're at about eye width apart, then you don't even need to modify the images for it to produce perfect 3D. e.g. we used to use 2 old security cameras taped together for the 3D "holographic" video-conferencing. and tho i loathe video conferencing normally, when it's 3D it feels just like a normal conversation.
