dayUMM. i spent WEEKS frigging around trying to get a non-horrificallypriced VisualStudio to knock the rust off/learn C# (good tip: VirtualPC plus a £2.99 demo version off ebay is the roxor), and now it's free.

and am currently getting my head scrambled by IMPLICIT pass-by-reference vs pass-by-value blurrings, which make a subclass look static, and can't be fixed by newing a constructor but can be fixed by newing Main's instances and i just discovered this and now it's doing my head in so i'm going to have more beer and sleep on it and the scoping will all make sense in the morning.
