che guevara?
for some reason, "kissinger" sprang into my head when i saw this
You know all this facial recognition software that's around these days?
Why isn't there a site yet where you can submit a famous (or not so famous face) and it does all the recog stuff, then looks through a zillion google image search pictures (already indexed with facial measurements) and finds the nearest matches?
Thank would be kind of neat.
I'n a lot of cases it would probably find the same photo
In other news. Does anyone thing that this picture of Arthur Miller looks more like a picture of Jeff Goldblum made up to look like Arthur Miller for some sort of filum?
I think it's the mouth.
Google FaceRec would be able to tell the difference though.
I'll just answer my own questions here:
pchere.blogspot.com/2005/10...
"Riya is a new Facial Recognition Photo Search tool, though still under development in alpha, that promises to revolutionize the way you search photos on the web."
You can start training Riya to recognize faces or browse by your Albums, Scenes, Date and Text auto-assigned to your photos.
If they get it out of Alpha, I imagine flickr/yahoo might be up for some buy out action.
I'm not sure this thing does what I thought it did. :(
From what I understand there's alot of training of an app like that. Like having to tell a kid - no, that's not Jeff Goldblum, that's Arthur Miller looking like him. Though, as usual, I'm probably wrong and have only researched into the infant stages of such an app.
I suppose you could, given a large user base, have a site that catalogued celebrity faces and within a very short space of time have a large, accurate database. Though the users would have to be trusted and they never can. :)
Aha but if there were 200 pictures of the queen submitted and then someone submitted a pic of graham norton and said "this is the queen" then it could work out if that person is probably lying or stupid, and discount their input.
unless the queen admitted sheepishly that she'd been posing as a queen
she is SUCH an attention whore
no wonder she and di hated each other
No clues... he bought it from the car boot sale. It's obviously someone worthy of making a poster of, but who the man actually might be, that's another kettle of fish...
An author or a scientist maybe?
David Icke says the Queen is a human-flesh eating alien reptile! heh heh
i just googled henry kissinger and it's pretty close, i reckon:
images.google.co.uk/images?...
eg
Oh yeah, close!
I tried mainly scientists and writers but had no luck. Think you might be onto something there
Damn it I need to know who it is now! :D
Yeah the doc doesnt know either. but surely we can track this guy down.
Yeah.. Tom (whose photostream it is) is my housemate and he challenged me to discover who it is. It's been driving me a bit mad as well. Don't think it's Henry K.
Could it be Alexander Graham Bell?
No, no, it's not. Darn it, why does the guy look so damn familiar?
I've no idea but he's fun to play with
So much fun
hahaha that's better. Can you make him look like Michael Jackson?
Doc can you ask him to go back to where he bought it and ask who it is?

And more to the point,
why he bought it?
Syl, since when has Michael Jackson been Spanish?
The original pic looks like someone out of a 50s B movie.
Or a newcewlar scientist.
Or a Nazi.
Why he bought it? I think he just liked the picture. I don't think the original seller would know its origin, but it's worth a try.
JK is your dad? Where's his hat?

Sul your alternative posters made me grin
The guy becomes more and more familiar the longer I look at him ;)
alfie - riya got aquired by google a couple of weeks ago
and since a disturbing amount of cctv footage is semipublically available, if you want to know what you did while wildly drunk last weekend, just google your face
