The Cloud'City-wide' wireless for seven UK cities
Business travellers heading to Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham, Oxford, Cambridge and the London boroughs of Islington, Camden and Kensington will soon find it easier to hook up to a wireless hotspot.
The Cloud, the UK’s biggest wireless hotspot provider, is to roll out "city-wide" coverage in these locations thanks to a network of hotspots in each
i increasingly wonder how much effect on my dna all this electrickery stuff is having. radio&tv both terrestrial and satellite, magnetic pulses off electrical tools and lines, now we're going to get emails and IMs and popups pouring thru us as we wander around town
"don't stand so close to the chat, dear"
"the cia keep emailing my teeth"
"all this spam is really giving me a headache"

I think it's only a matter of time until they all amaglamate anyway. We already have calls over the internet, tv, radio and everything else. There's surely a time when we have one wireless net that deals with all the traffic. Instead of hooking up to a mobile network, phones will just be limited 'puters that are dedicated to calls or something.
Hopefully. Or they'll just make palmtops so complicated and small that you can't buy a decent, small phone anymore. Fuckers. I just want a
small decent camera, and a
small phoen that just does calling and text. I don't need a colour display or a camera on it, so spend the time making the camera small! Then the battery will last for weeks, too.
i have that.
• sony cybershot-U
• samsung S300
as an indication of small: the latter fits in my jeans' (levis) fob pocket with just over a centimeter between it and the top of the pocket, and i can put my thumb down beside it to the base of the phone.
only available 2nd hand now, because it doesn't have a camera and so the marketing droids are convinced it won't sell (or rather more to the point: it won't impress their bosses)
