I wish you a very very happy birthday, and may you live to be 202. All the very best, Cal!

I nearly forgot to mention : this is an important birthday for Cal, as he is a quarter of a Century old today) 25! Woo!

What plans do you have for your birthday?

Happy birthday, mate.
I tried to buy you something from Amazon but the silly Americans don't accept Switch, so you're out of luck.

Thought that counts, though, eh?

Uh yeah, me too.
Posted by Brock, around 17th January 2006:

I thought about it, too. But it appears my psyche doesn't accept kindness, so no go.

WTF are you blathering about? Why does your psyche need to accept kindness in order for you to buy someone a pressie? Do you mean your psyche can't deal with the concept of kindness?

I don't know why I'm bothering asking, really, because I know you're bound to come up with an explanation and try to make out that it's me that's at fault.
Posted by Brock, around 17th January 2006:

So save me the effort and just beat yourself up, then.
Posted by WarHead, around 17th January 2006:

No, go on, I want to see how imaginative you can be.

Oooops, nearly forgot; Happy Birtdday, Cal. Pity I can't be there to tug your silky locks.
Posted by Brock, around 17th January 2006:

It's quite simple, you hit on it yourself. My psyche can't accept the concept of kindness. When it tries to deal with it it results in system meltdown and my brain freezes.

Not all that hard is it? How could you be so close and not get it? It is clearly your fault.

Looks like Brockles is using the hegemony of 'accept' for his argument - option 6 from a list of 8.

To be honest, I read it Brock's way the first time. So I'm agreeing with Brock. Damnit.
Posted by Grim..., around 17th January 2006:

Hang on, I just checked 'hegemony' and it doesn't mean 'multiple meanings' =[
What word am I trying to think of?
Posted by WarHead, around 17th January 2006:

"Wombat."

it results in system meltdown and my brain freezes.
Which system is it that melts down? Can't you place it next to your brain to prevent it frezing?

Happy Birthday, Cal. Hope the bigger boy's arguing isn't ruining it for you.

You two should really have some more respect. Tsk.

Burpday Boy.

There you go, Cal, don't you feel special? Bickering on your birthday thread. No birthday thread is complete without it. (Thanks, guys, I was hoping he would read his birthday thread, now I'm not sure if he will.) ---> :)

Warhead, that's a great pic.
Posted by Brock, around 18th January 2006:

I'm not sure if Sul and I should go into our homoerotic birthday thread thing again. But I suspect that was, and should probably remain, a one-off.
Posted by Boudicca_DUPE1, around 18th January 2006:

How about a heteroerotic thing with me? ;)
Posted by Boudicca_DUPE1, around 18th January 2006:

Cue Brock : I'd rather poke my eyes out with a NLP.
(I thought I'd say it first so you didn't have to)

Dear Cal. I wrote you a birthday song. I hope you didn't see it in the thread where Sul writes you a birthday song.

O cal, O cal,
How round you are,
How shapely your hips,
How they descend
Upon the chair

Now the time has come
When we remember your birth
We lay down a carpet
The meat of ourselves
For your footsteps

As you assert
I am Cal
And step
Upon our prone matting
Upon our awaiting bodies
Yearning for your feet

Oh, yearning.

I must say, Cal always looks like he could wither you with just a stare, but he sounds so lovely on the phone. I phoned him to wish him a happy birthday. He's nice. :)

On Saturday evening we were watching A Beautiful Mind for the second time because it was on SABC3. You are right, warhead, Cal is the spitting image of Russel Crowe, especially in that movie. Russel just needs to part his hair in the middle. :)
