It's been on for nearly a whole day and we still haven't had the annual customary Grim...:"I FUCKING LOVE BIG BROTHER" thread....
...what's going on???

Maybe he realised it's actually 'entertainment' for the mentally impaired and has decided to forgo that pleasure this time around.

I think you'll find it's been nearly 366 whole days.
Possibly even 731 days.
Don't let the facts get in the way, eh?

Sort it out Grimothy! The world needs your opinion on Shahbaz's antics!
i saw the first 30mins of their entry into The House. Miss Wales
(or wherever it was) was a disappointment -- lovely face but unexercised body. i want the dance instructor -- eeeeeyum. and i am more than slightly convinced that the "tourettes" is put on -- he seems aware of what he's saying and when, whereas genuine sufferers aren't.
i was bored shitless and trying not to punch the screen after 15mins. so, that's about my limit reached on this year's BB. can't wait till next year.

Wow - you managed
15 minutes. I'm lost in admiration.
Sal; I've met 'Perfect Pete' a couple of times down the Albert, and yes, it's genuine... either that or he's been carrying out a very dedicated act for the last few years..
Geezer with tourettes from brighton. Of course its a mate of Docs.
"very dedicated act" is what it seemed like, actually. extremely dependent upon his level of social tension, too.
unless he's become over the years more sensitised to picking up cues to what he's said, based on people's reactions...
any road: i'm looking forward to "
[wheet!] WANKERS" being this summer's slogan, the streets' shout-out.

Er. He? And you want him? Er. I didn't know you were gay?

we don't have big brother here
i think it's a sign that we exist on a higer plane
Salty's as gay as Tony Hart hanging out of the back of Andi Peters...
Quite funny, really, I went to go see Daddy Fantastic (pete's band) on Monday and he never showed up... was wondering what had happened to him (they played on without him) and then on Tuesday someone mentioned that he was going to be on Big Brother..
Haven't actually seen it yet, but I'll try and see him at some point.

Where did you hear that?
People who have tourettes are fully aware of what they are saying. They just can't stop it, that's all.
hmm. i've only read the opposite. but then i've not read any proper medical stuff about it -- it's not been a big part of my life, to date, to be honest.
the dance instructor is the brownhaired girl in there with the good body.
*tivotivo*
"thee eleventh hausmeeyarrrrt iz Greeeyahhss, a twinny yir ole dance teacher frum londarrrrrn"
i think that's "Grace", in english. the only girl there who exercises, and hence stand-out more attractive than all the others. woof.
speaking of gay, i never knew George Best was a gayer
that's gotta be about the girliest dancing i've ever seen. he must be spinning his bottle from shame about now.

Oh, for God's sake.
So it's okay to beat up your wife, waste organs that could have kept other people alive by continued drinking and be a racist cunt as long as you were good at football.
I'd be fucking ashamed to be Irish today.
I'm up for all that apart from the organ wasting. Soon you're going to be saying that fat people and smokers shouldn't get NHS treatment because it's their own fauit.
"Dear god, Doctor, you've got to do something! My heart's going to give out..."
"Well, dear boy, you shouldn't have eaten those pies, then, should you. Now be good and suffer in silence. There's a poor little girl with a broken toe who needs my attention, and she's done quite well on the body mass index as well."

As a smoker, I am well aware that a non-smoker is far more deserving of new lungs than I am (and will be higher on the transplant list).
Unless I can kick a pigs bladder about, of course.
I don't think lungs can be transplanted.

You may not think it, Syl, but I'm afraid you're wrong. There have been loads of heart/lung transplants.
grim: PETA says you're OK to kick a pig's bladder about, because pigs aren't furry. some of them are cute, but they have other, cuter, animals to worry about first.
doc: don't get me started on the arse-aboutness of the nhs. your satire of the logic is actually policy. e.g., the fact that "most people who have checkups aren't sick" is the reason why the nhs refuses to do checkups.
Oh. Well, I stand corrected then. Um, to the lung transplant thing.
Re : cuteness. I hate crocs, 'gators, snakes and sharks, but that doesn't mean I think they should be killed and turned into handbags.
Salt, What? The NHS refuses to do check-ups? Does that mean that GPs are doing them on the sly, only pretending to be an NHS GP?

Actually, it would be ace if you had Harry Tuttle style guerilla GPs. If he was a GP, not a plumber, like.
Ap, I'll drink to that. "Oooh, here we go, now just take these twice a week till the rash showed up. You ain't seen me, right?"
doc: try it. go into a gp and ask for a checkup.
i have, and have been laughed out of the room.
the closest they will do is a "registration checkup", which they will only allow you if you are new to the area. that's insane enough, as a concept. ("i need to move house in order to get a checkup?" "yes") what's further insane is what they then CALL a checkup. they weigh you, take your blood pressure, and do a cheap&cheerful piss-on-stick diabetes test.
game over.
this is not a check up.
it is a joke.
i have had two long stern talkings-to by brit doctors explaining patiently to stupid ole me that checkups are NOT done in england and have NOT been done for a VERY long time because they are NOT cost-effective[, you stupid aussie cunt]. and 3 other doctors have nodded vigorously subsequently when i mentioned this. "that's right." and 1 nurse excluded me from a surgery permanently on registration when i annoyedly asked her to start the checkup, after she'd finished what she regarded as just the best checkup possible EVAH. she apparently had an attack of the vapours, had to go home early and take several days off work, and deleted me from the registry on her return. without telling me, incidentally -- i found out a year later when i needed to see the doctor that, legally, he was not allowed to treat me because i wasn't on his books.
the nhs formally refuses to pay for checkups and nhs doctors are formally required NOT to do checkups.
you may still run across doctors who regard "professional" as an attitude rather than a status, and they may do an actual checkup. on the basis of patient-reality rather than self-interest. but yes, it is "guerrilla medicine" so far as the nhs goes, and not only will they not be paid for it but technically they are in breach of nhs rules and hence liable to ejection should anyone complain.

Recently, they've started just doing the lungs (without the donor heart). Impressive stuff.
I thought lungs were too squishy. (I mean : they are not very stable. They wobble around a lot)

:)
Salty; going to try it tomorrow, I've got a morning off and I reckon it's time I had a check up. I also want to ask him if cracking your knuckles all at once in a Machivellian / Dastardly Doctor Darcy Tyler way is actually bad for you or if it's a myth.
The only doctor who ever gave me a sensible reply about that basically told me that the knuckle-cracking was the least of my worries.
heh
that's a class doctor! brilliant
good luck with your gp, hopefully he's happy to bend the rules
known pete for a fantastic 4 or five years now and its certainly not put on! he's a wicked guy! hope he wins!

yeah i watched BB last night to see the much-touted eviction of the loon. shazbat or something. frankly, i could have done without it.
but pete comes across as a bloody top bloke. head & shoulders better than most people, let alone the loons in the bb house.
