The Extreme Diet Coke & Mentos Experiments:

What happens when you combine 200 liters of Diet Coke and over 500 Mentos mints? It's amazing and completely insane.

The first part of this video demonstrates a simple geyser, and the second part shows just how extreme it can get. Over one hundred jets of soda fly into the air in less than three minutes.

It's a hysterical and spectacular mint-powered version of the Bellagio Fountains in Las Vegas, brought to you by the mad scientists at EepyBird.com.

That's going a bit against your privacy dogma isnt Salty? All I'd have to do is find that place (shouldn't be hard), camp outside for a bit, wait for someone whistling Waltzing Matilda going into the flat opposite and I'd have you nabbed.

thanks for going out of your way to take the piss, syl.
not.

you know that person who told you that constant stalking is cute and funny? they lied.

thanks for going out of your way

It was no trouble at all, really! :)

Aw Salty, lighten up! Why the sense of humour collapse lately?

(hahaha to the cat)

Hang on - didn't we have a discussion about where you lived because you live about a mile from me?
Posted by Saltation_DUPE1, around 9th June 2006:

there is a BIG difference between you guys being able to guess offline/off-forum, and anyone doing a search being able to have everything cross-referenced FOR them by google.

syl, you did the same thing to brock not so long ago. i suggest you go and read again his reaction and what he said. i had the same reaction. maybe consider that it's a common reaction if you behave like that.
Posted by syl_DUPE1, around 9th June 2006:

I was just teasing you. You're a bit bristly!

then THINK about the CONSEQUENCES of your actions a bit more, if you don't want to seriously piss people off
Posted by syl_DUPE1, around 9th June 2006:

Please get over yourself, Salty! Do you honestly think anyone is going to try and find that shop and stand outside it waiting for you?
No-one gives a shit, really. Turn the paranoia down a bit...you're making me nuts!
Posted by Saltation_DUPE1, around 10th June 2006:

you don't have a clue who does and doesn't give a shit, nor why.

this should be a clue that you should be MORE cautious about fucking around online with someone else's chosen privacy levels.
not LESS: more.

we have had this conversation before. off-forum. more than once.

you also appear to think this has something to do with an iamcal member standing outside my house. you seem bizarrely unaware of the real world possible consequences of proof of matching street address.

here's a clue, re possible consequences of matching online interaction with real world identity. "dooced"

in a google-world, privacy is like a balloon. one prick and it's gone.

if *i* choose to sail close to the wind, based on my assessment of likely risk sources and likely searches, based on MY knowledge of MY life, that's MY choice. NOT yours.

Yeah...I was going to say, it was you who posted the blasted thing on here in the first place. What did you expect?
(Sure, fair enough. I think possibly you didn't consider that website until I posted it.)
we have had this conversation before. off-forum. more than once.
A conversation is where both parties get to say things. You just shit all over me and then cut me dead without giving me the chance to defend myself. Not fair. Anyway that is another matter.

Thanks for the "dooced" thing. Very interesting. I guess maybe you have a point.
Posted by Saltation_DUPE1, around 10th June 2006:

i expected basic grownupness and basic awareness of how the internet works

re the conversations, i STRONGLY suggest you re-read them if that is your current memory of them. your perception has drifted dramatically. someone getting fucked off by being repeatedly pushed, and telling you so, is not the same as them shitting on you out of the blue.

But Mr Rushdie, the fatwah's ovah!

Eh? Although "out of the blue" is an interesting phrase for you to have chosen.

Okay, Sul's just phoned me, he's got the right street, and he's going from door to door with a crate of Stella looking for Salty.

Would be quite an effective method except he's been at it a few hours now, made some new friends but no sign of the Saltmaster...

Salt, Can you please go and rescue Sul before he gets off with the teenage girl at no. 14 and then gets destroyed by her large bulky father?

(There's a little 'Anne Frank' room in Salty's attic)
Posted by Salman Rushdie_DUPE1, around 10th June 2006:

I say 'Anne Frank' room. It's got a bit more leather than the secret annexe. But Magical Realist Novellists in hiding can't be choosers.

aw, i missed what all the fuss was about. I know where salty lives based on a photo I saw and I walked past there a few weeks ago. But it's ok, I won't tell anyone and I'm not a stalker :)

is it bad that I don't care where salty lives but am dissapointed with the lack of smarties ?
Posted by syl_DUPE1, around 12th June 2006:

here you go, then
Posted by bumdog, around 13th June 2006:

To be fair though Grim, most of the regulars know your name (and so on) anyway. Plus you've put it up on the board countless times amongst other details from your private life. Salty hasn't ever and is quite protective of his anonimity whereas you in the past have been the opposite, so it's a little silly to complain when someone does it on your behalf.
Posted by syl_DUPE1, around 13th June 2006:

I haven't complained, I just got mightily pissed off.
In a sense, I was trying to make Syl realise that people did give a shit, really.

quite

if you decide to fuck around with someone else's life in an irrevocable fashion --someone who has only provided the information to be able to do this as a result of them trusting you NOT to fuck around with it-- it could be regarded as polite to ask them first.

and then to respect their decision.

their decision re their own life.
