Anyone here on Myspace? I've been having fun playing on myspace today. Yes. Joy.

I don't get myspace. I've listened to a few bands but other than that I'm lost.
Posted by Saltation_DUPE1, around 26th July 2006:

yeah, me too.
i suspect from the way people describe its attractions, though, that it's like the internet for people who've not really seen anything of its interactivity before.

also, i think some people get sucked into meta-games of how many friends they can get or how many views, that sort of thing.

It has its good and bad elements. A good place for stalkers, apparently. And it goes off-line a lot, late at night, when I'm trying to post stuff. S'OK for hearing new and old artists' music samples but I find the design a little tiresome.

PS I'm warhead1954 on there if anyone wants to stop me being Billy Nomates.

myspace rocks for networking
I'm only there to promote craftwerk and my crafty creations, and it rocks

I hate Myspace. I refuse to browse it due to the sheer volume of people that have players for music:

"LISTEN TO MY MUSIC!!!!111 I dn't care what YOU like, listen to MY music!!!!"

Fuck. Off.

what a surprise
i am shocked by your attitude brockles
Posted by WarHead, around 27th July 2006:

Brock, that's one of the reasons it's there, for folk to promote their music without having to try to get a deal with a record label first. I just wish they'd use the option not to play their music automatically when you access their profile. Maybe a lot of people don't realise that's an option.

Ellipse, what's your MS display name.

Bint? Blimey, nobody says 'bint' these days. That went out with cloth caps ages ago.

A (possibly) reliable source says, "bint" is British slang for a woman or girl, but it is always disparaging and offensive and signals the user as lower class and unrefined. It’s also now rather dated.

The word is Arabic for a daughter, specifically one who has yet to bear a child. It was in common use as a slang term during the first and second World Wars among British and Allied servicemen stationed in Egypt and neighbouring countries.

Sir Richard Burton was the first person to use the word in English, in his Personal Narrative of a Pilgrimage to El-Medinah and Meccah in 1855: “ ‘Allah! upon Allah! O daughter!’ cry the by-standers, when the obstinate bint of sixty years seizes their hands”.

Then again, Wikipedia says, The Arabic word for 'daughter', see ibn.
A slang word in the United Kingdom, and Ireland, used as a stand-in for the term 'bitch', referring to a disagreeable and domineering woman. It is unclear whether it entered the English language as a loan of the Arabic term, a portmanteau of bitch and cunt, or in some other fashion.

Anyroadup, she's not a 'bint,' she's one of those young ladies from Cambridge who's a contact of Hanni's, and the first person from flickr to ask if I had a MS account.
