just occurred to me that some priceless moments tivo'd of The Comedy Store, could be so easily lost and so easily preserved.

and then i thought fuck it i'll just type some names in of fuck-off great comedians.

oh wait, the names. wot prompted me to do the thread thing.

low speed context-free stuff: Stewart Francis -- dreamy static canadian
"tell you a little bit about my childhood,
so get out your tissues,
'cos you're going to
,
masturbate"

rough and ready energy/honesty-driven stuff: (big) Colin Cole
"walk on the plane, two people gonna meet you!
one's a woman. one wants to BE a woman."

"FREE.
ALCOHOL.
two best words in the world.
together.
,
SO much better than the other way round."

"This girl's half german, half shepherd!"

fast context-free standard-joke-style done by a BRIGHT person: Tim Vine
sul, think you'd love this guy
"So I'm playing the piano in a bar, and this elephant walked in. And, as I was playing, he started crying his eyes out. I said: 'd'y'recognise the tune?' He said: 'n, i recognise the ivory.'"
*general laughter- at end a couple of girls on one side go "awhhhhhhhhh"*
"what- you think that actually happened? is that what you think?"

"i used to live in a teapot!
i know what you're thinking.
'pour you'."

I remember Tim Vine off the box ages ago. Think I've caught him live at the store too, can't remember. I seem to recall not liking his delivery. In fact, if I think about him, a Red Coat springs to mind.

I like Richard Prior cuz he jokes about racism

I like Richard Pryor because it's racist not to like a black person.

I also like Richard Prior because he loves animals and does* [*did :'( ] animal rights activism. But I didn't want to say that because I thought we were talking about their work. He also used to swear a lot which i think is funny because we were not allowed to swear at home. My Mom still gets upset if I say KAK. and I'd never say fuck in front of her. I actually feel quite bad saying it now.
*puts chillies and soap in mouth*

why did tim vines present the inventor of the jet engine? apart from the lack-of-obvious-comedy aspect, he's been dead for years. the smell must have been awful.
