Anyone got a gmail invite I can have?
Also any idea if there are any tricks to get a UK account to register as gmail.com rather than googlemail?
Thanks!

and if you have problems
i have gmail.com one and can maybe register them both for you
and then hand them over.
alternatively, sometimes you can get @gmail.com by simply registering as being IN the usa and provide a usa zip code.
however, sometimes it looks up your IP address and gives you @googlemail.com instead. no idea what triggers the different behaviour.
you can force a non-UK IP by installing Tor, a privacy & anonymity tool, and pointing your browser at Tor instead of the internet.
tor.eff.org.
basically, keep checking your IP (eg.
projectip.com, see "Your Country" in the list) until you get a nonUK one, then sign up for gmail.
actually...
a stray recollection just occurred to me so i tested it.
any.name@googlemail.com can be sent to
any.name@gmail.com and it will arrive.
ie, set up a googlemail.com a/c and then just tell people gmail.com
