anyone else having trouble getting a non-stupidlooking userid on yahoo? seems to me that ANY name which does not have digits in it is automatically rejected.
either that, or someone has built a bot which has done every single combination of every word in the dictionary and signed it up as a userid.
or else someone is stalking me and has preemptively taken every permutation of "saltation" (hardly a common word...) and other words as a bank of userids.

Yeah, they seem to want digits. Saltationflickr?
nope. saltationflickr is "unavailable"
Saltion.flickr is also unavailable.
others also unavailable: saltation_yahooid, saltation_yahoo1id, saltation_yah00id, saltation_id, etc etc etc
weirdly, saltation_yid is ok (ditto saltation_y1d), but i refuse to be e-represented by an antisemitic term.
for ALL of the above, changing the "_" to ".", or just removing the "_", makes no difference -- still unavailable.
"yahoo" is clearly an autoreject pattern. i used the finnish equivalent and it went thru fine.
weirdly, saltation_flickr IS "available"
uhh....
wtf?
saltation_oldskoolflickr it is, then.
but what the hell weirdarse patterns is yahooID using to reject candidate IDs?
I bet some cheeky rascal registered saltationflickr last night so you'd carry on the hunt and write up a rant.
Cheeky cheeky rascal.
I guess I got lucky when I signed up. xD
Didn't take me too long.
I'm pretty sure it was x_crazily.
