I don't know yet, some sort of economic problem.
Just have a global currency already
What do you think? Should we have a global currency? What names can you suggest?
Posted by
syl, around November 2010:
Terra?
Posted by
che, around 13th November 2010:
How about we call it "gold"
Posted by
syl, around 13th November 2010:
I meant replacing the pound/dollar/rand/yen etc with a currency that all has the same value, therefore no exchange rates.

She's such a beautiful, graceful girl. She looks like a nice person, too. She's got a friendly, open face. I can't wait for the wedding. I don't follow the Royals that much, but this is a biggie. 30 years since The Wedding of the 20th Century : Charles and Di.

syl, around 18th November 2010:
Do you guys think I am over-reacting, I am upset because 'the man' said "You're lovely, a bit heavy, but lovely" and it's not the first time he's said it. He can't just say "You're lovely" without adding the fucking "heavy" bit. Am I being silly for getting upset by this? I think it's insensitive, I know I have a weight problem, I don't have be reminded all the time. I am trying to do something about it.
Posted by
Miki, around 18th November 2010:
I think it's not a great thing to say and like you said it's not like it's new information so what did he think he would accomplish by saying it?!
But getting upset about it is another thing
You could've said "You're lovely, a bit insensitive, but lovely" and he probably would have laughed and then you could have shrugged it off.
And maybe he didn't actually mean it in a bad way, maybe he was trying to convince you that you are lovely, threw the heavy bit in because he knew you were going to bring that up as a counter argument, and then basically said "yes I know you think you're heavy but you are lovely" - does that make sense?
anyway, you shouldnt be upset. You already knew you were heavy and now you know you are lovely, result ;-)

WarHead, around 18th November 2010:
What Miki said. But bear in mind that men often are insensitive, and not necessarily intentionally.
Posted by
syl, around 19th November 2010:
Thank you Miki and warhead :) I'll have a chat with him about it. I guess it's something I *am* very sensitive about.

oh boy i am in trouble again....we have this organisation contracting to us that gives handicapped people (some suffer from retardation, some downs, one lady is blind) the opportunity to work here. They work in the kitchen or in the mail room. The blind lady works on the switchboard and she has a voice like golden honey. They had a party for them on Friday night for their graduation. I was standing in the canteen waiting to be served this morning and some audit clerk (must have been not more than 21 years old) said i wonder how the flid party went and he and his mate both laughed. i could not stop myself, i turned around and slapped him in the face. now he's gone to HR to lodge a complaint of assault against me. fuck

The HR lady said she doesn't like what he said either, but it doesn't give me the right to slap people

Posted by
Miki, around 24th November 2010:
no I'm not shocked, just tired
I agree with the HR lady, you can't go around slapping stupid people, your arm would fall off
plus it topples you off the high horse because slapping is wrong
excellent news about your boss lady! I must say after our own trouble I have an axtra soft spot for this sort of thing :)
Posted by
che, around 24th November 2010:
Yeah slapping is out syl.
You don't want to get a reputation as a slapper after all.
Posted by
syl, around 25th November 2010:

I know, I just reacted. I've never slapped anyone before. It was weird.
