This is a read-only copy. The forum ran on iamcal.com from 2000 until its database was lost in 2016, and this topic was rebuilt from copies saved by the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine. Some replies may be missing.

IKEAfreak is possibly more minimalistic than even the new version of my site. Neat. :) It's a good thing that Pair explained bandwidth and connectivity. I've actually always wanted to know the differences with all the terminology being used.

Talking about your ikea game, there is a slight problem with it!

"You can buy IKEA things online. Very cool."

As much as I like Ikea, you can't buy things online (which is very shabby), you can only check the avalibility and have to go into the store and buy it if you want it delivered :)

I know, I've never worked it out myself why that is the case - they could of make a fortune from me.

From their FAQ's.

Can I purchase IKEA products on the web?
Not yet.
IKEA UK's strategies are geared towards generating customers into the stores where they can actually touch, try out and/or sit on the products.
We're concentrating on opening 20 new stores over the next 10 years.
However, we're currently running trials abroad to sell our products on-line.
We will only launch on-line shopping in the UK when we can ensure we have an adequate infrastructure in place.

how does ikea freak get away with using a bastardised logo(in the freak shopping bit, gear section), and Cal gets the big stick treatment, are they scared of the ikea freak I wonder?
